What do you think we should've done?
Walk into this beyond horrid draft with no QB with NFL experience (playoff xp too) and draft one of the shitty QBs in the class? Or walk in the season with Cassel or Quinn? Seems that way seeing how much people bitch about the Smith trade. Who the **** cares about the 2nd round pick, you're not going to get anyone with any actual talent in this shit draft anyways. Yeah I was a Geno fan but not to start and be the only QB on the roster. Every QB in this draft blows and every QB that we had on our roster blew. We needed a guy and Alex was a great choice.

had we had that 2nd round pick we could have STILL got any QB we wanted besides EJ Manuel (who cares about him).

so we could have actually had

1.1 Fisher, Joeckel, Jordan
2.2 Geno, Barkley, Whoever the **** they wanted


there are good odds that 2 of these QBs in this draft will have a way better career than Alex Smith

Lamar Hunt had to have instilled a policy that you never draft a QB after Todd Blackledge. It must have affected him greatly. I guess an exception with a 5th round QB every 5 years or so.

It's obviously this teams policy that QB is the least important position on the field.

We know with Alex Smith, we are getting a guy who isn't capable of taking control of an offense. We know he's not capable of throwing more than 18 touchdowns and 3200 yards in a season.

We don't know if any of these QBs in this draft will work out, but they might. There's always an element of gambling with the draft.

We'd rather take the 18 touchdowns and 3200 yards at best. Then to take a 50/50 chance at QB stardom.

And even if our gm hated Geno Smith just pick up a veteran who can do a solid job this year, have a productive 13 draft with ALL of our draft picks and move on to 14 and pickup a quarterback.

Now we are stuck with captain shit head at quarterback and we lost 2 high draft picks.
