If the Buffalo grass in your yard is limited I'd take something like a cheap paint sponge brush and use Roundup. If you're talking a large area maybe Roundup would be better for the whole area and then replanting grass in late August. |

Level of surprise that Hamas is the CP member who literally 'salted the earth': 0.

The Buffalo isn't limited; it is the yard. The problem is that Buffalo is a bit touchy with respect to chemicals, and it's highly conducive to weeds when it's establishing. |

2-4-D shouldn't hurt Buffalo grass but read the label before applying. For me, Trimec 2-4-D works best on clover but LV400 Amine is cheaper. I usually mix it half and half when spraying broadleaf's. Each uses a different form of salt. Or something. We were in severe drought last year and my 15 year old tall Fescue yard gotten beaten bad. I replanted in late April and have a good young grass field. The broadleaf's were coming in bad so I hit them with this mixture last Monday. The weeds are dead and it didn't appear to hurt the new fescue. |

In the early spring if you can get your mits on some atrazine, pair it with glyphosate and some banvel you'll do yourself a lot of good until late July probably. We run that with our ground rig so we get the rates right but it works well. |

Just goddamn don't go crazy with the atrazine and by god don't tell anybody you're doing it.
