Nice little article about Reid's "live" practices.

Reid is the best all around coach we have had since Marty.

I thought what Brandon Albert said about Andy Reid actually getting down on the ground with them to show them things was telling.
He is coaching again, in meetings, really in tune to his team, something that was said he wasn't the last couple of years. Good things for the Chiefs. People know that he can coach....

But, as I said, he's who we have. There's nothing really to be gained in a "woulda/shoulda" discussion. So I hope he does well. Sometimes a change of scenery works magic. And he does have some positives. I do far prefer aggressive coaches to anything we've had in my time following the team, and that includes Vermeil, who saddled himself repeatedly to chess-playing DCs - sutton at least attacks, whatever else there is to be said about him.... |

Reid was a pretty good hire. I'd rather have him than any of the random coordinators who got head coaching gigs this year. With maaaaaybe the exception of Gus Bradley or Marc Trestman (only because milkman likes him). But neither of them are the kind of ground-shaking move that Clark needed to bring fans back. His first goal was to hire a head coach IMMEDIATELY before any of the other teams could get their hands on the top guys. It might look strange if he hired Trestman less than 72 hours after announcing he would fix this mess created by the Patriots. |
