Harbaugh and co failed to use Vernon Davis as often up the seam like back in 09-10. And Kaepernick wasn't going deep 20+ as much as 10-20. And like I mentioned before. Why would Smith be throwing the ball deep in the 5 out of 8 games they were winning solidly in the 2nd half? |

I've tried to avoid saying it, because I don't want it to be true, but I do fear that Alex is just too ingrained to ever fully trust himself and just fire the ****ing ball into a window. If that can't be coached out of him, he'll never be worth a shit. He has to be willing to take some calculated risks.

The last 2 times it was consistently needed and Smith had a talent worthy of faith in they are gonna get a half step on the defense and the ball needs to come out without hesitation.
Vernon Davis 2009-2010 *short lived TE TD record* Antonio Bryant 2006 *was 5th in the NFL in yard per catch* Crabtree was a clod who showed up on a bye after holding his rookie year. Smith was forcing him passes and tried to build up a connection. Crabs is an idiot and was missing camps/preseason so it took time. 2012 he was about what he was supposed to be finally. KC will most likely be in more tight games and a play here or there are the difference in winning or losing. We'll see. |

This is the thing. All of our other shitty QB's were willing to chuck it up there and let DBowe go get it. Alex HAS to do that. He has too. Otherwise we are ****ed with a capital Aids fork.

This concerns me as well, our second best player on the team not getting a pass is alarming. It has been explained before that Alex has trouble seeing the entire field, and I'm beginning to agree.

Crap Alex Smith sucks. I'm betting we go five games deep before he plays to a standard that can win us a game. I'm not gonna count a game that JC has 200+ yards in and 2 td's as a game Alex Smith wins for us.

The quote from Crabtree below illustrates why Crabtree began to thrive with Kaepernick. This is significant because it projects to whether Alex will "trust" Bowe where he didn't "trust" Crabtree in the football sense as a receiver. San Francisco 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree credits trust factor for his success with Colin Kaepernick Crabtree credited his and Kaepernick's earlier success to practice time, their common age (25), a shared desire to make plays, and, perhaps most of all, a trust factor. "I think he trusted me more. There was a lot of trust," Crabtree said on "Total Access." "Playing wide receiver you need a quarterback that trusts you. I feel he trusted me, and we went out there and did it." So was that trust factor lacking with Alex Smith, who attempted 58 passes to Crabtree last season for 42 completions, 492 yards and four touchdowns? "I wouldn't say that. I don't want no controversy," Crabtree responded. "I'm going to keep it real. But we (he and Kaepernick) clicked and made it happen out there." http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_228774...-credits-trust |
