I thought only google did 320kbs. Amazon is still 256 last I checked.

As far as my clipping, it isn't on my PC. It is on all my mp3 devices. I hear clipping on amazon mp3s while I don't on itunes AAC. I can remedy it with MP3Gain but I don't like messing with my audio files if I don't need too.

That could be the issue. The guy that invented iTunes lives about a half a mile from me and he's on my 3.5 dog mile walk (which I used to do 5 times a week for a decade and haven't done five times this year!). Next time I'm on his street, I'll ask him. Really nice guy. |

I would prefer to go Amazon full time but their match feature really sucks. I don't have a large music library, only about 3500 songs or so, but itunes matched over 2500 of them while amazon only matched about 1000.

I don't have prime but I don't think it would make any difference. Everything online states amazon is 256. Maybe they just know who you are and don't want to piss you off.

Seriously though, what a trip. All that said, I don't have any problems with Amazon's 256kbs files on my iPad, iPhone 4s or on a memory stick in my car. I think it's either a setting for you or the headphones. Maybe the Amazon mp3's are too loud. As I had mentioned, I know for a fact that Apple "processes" their AAC files, which is why I won't buy them. They don't sound "right" to my ears in my room. |

Of course, maybe there is something about that "processing" that appeals more to my ear. Who knows. Could you explain more what it is they are doing on that?

So, when I hear them in my room, they sound all kinds of jacked up. It's like "Whoa, what just happened to the music?" kind of vibe. But hey, if it works for you, go with it. Everyone hears things differently and if it's working, I'm certainly not one to say that you're "wrong". |

Here's my problem. I'm an idiot at things like this. Maybe because I'm on a Mac or I just am not doing it right, but the Sharepod thing doesn't seem to be coming up clean on my CPU. Do I open it? Save it? Sorry. |
