Two Team Tiebreaker for 1 Wild Card 1 tiebreak game played on September 30th. Home Field is determined by: 1. Head-to-head winning percentage during the 2013 regular season. 2. Higher winning percentage in intradivision games. 3. Higher winning percentage in the last half of intraleague games. 4. Higher winning percentage in the last half plus one intraleague game, provided that such additional game was not between the two tied clubs. Continue to go back one intraleague game at a time until the tie has been broken. Three Team Tiebreaker for 1 Wild Card The teams will be designated as Team A, Team B, and Team C. Team A hosts Team B on September 30. The winner of that game hosts Team C on October 1st. The designations are chosen this way: 1. Club with highest winning percentage among three tied clubs in intradivision games chooses its designation, followed by the team with the next highest winning percentage in intradivision games. If any two of the clubs have identical winning percentages, then then the two-Club tiebreak rules will break that tie. If all three Clubs have identical winning percentages, then; 2. Club with the highest winning percentage in the last half of intraleague games chooses its designation, followed by the team with the next highest winning percentage in intraleague games. If any two of the clubs have identical winning percentages, then then the two-Club tiebreak rules will break that tie. If all three Clubs have identical winning percentages, then; 3. Club with the highest winning percentage in the last half plus one intraleague game, provided that such additional game was not between any of the tied Clubs, chooses its designation, followed by the team with the next highest winning percentage in the last half plus one intraleague game. Continue to go back one intraleague game at a time until the tie has been broken. Four Team Tiebreaker for 1 Wild Card The teams will be designated as Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D. Team A hosts Team B and Team C hosts Team D on September 30. The winner of the Team A/B game hosts the winner of the Team C/D game on October 1st. The designations are chosen this way: 1. The Club with the highest winning percentage in games among the tied Clubs chooses its designation first, followed by the Club with the second-highest winning percentage and the Club with the third-highest winning percentage. If two Clubs have identical winning percentages, then the two-Club tiebreak rules shall apply to determine which team selects its designation first. If three Clubs have identical winning percentages, then the three-Club tiebreak rules shall apply to determine which teams select their designation first. If all four Clubs have identical winning percentages, then; 2. The Club with the highest winning percentage in intradivision games chooses its designation first, followed by the Club with the second-highest winning percentage and the Club with the third-highest winning percentage. If two Clubs have identical winning percentages, then the two-Club tiebreak rules shall apply to determine which team selects its designation first. If three Clubs have identical winning percentages, then the three-Club tiebreak rules shall apply to determine which teams select their designation first. If all four Clubs have identical winning percentages, then; 3. The Club with the highest winning percentage in the last half of intraleague games chooses its designation first, followed by the Club with the second-highest winning percentage and the Club with the third-highest winning percentage. If two Clubs have identical winning percentages, then the two-Club tiebreak rules shall apply to determine which team selects its designation first. If three Clubs have identical winning percentages, then the three-Club tiebreak rules shall apply to determine which teams select their designation first. If all four Clubs have identical winning percentages, then; 4. The Club with the highest winning percentage in the last half plus one intraleague game, provided that such additional game was not between any of the tied Clubs, chooses its designation followed by the Club with the second-highest winning percentage and the Club with the third-highest winning percentage. Continue to go back one intraleague game at a time until any ties have been broken. Five Team Tiebreaker for 1 Wild Card No one knows, MLB has not provided for one.

Short version: I may be wrong, but since the Royals were red-hot after the All Star break, I think they might be able to win all tiebreakers and claim home field advantage.

They would lose the tiebreaker to the Yankees, I believe, and the one with the Indians is probably still up for grabs.

Yep, we lose the Yankee tiebreak. We win tiebreakers against Baltimore and Tampa Bay. We'll lose the Cleveland tiebreaker unless we sweep them, then when it goes to divisional record we'll likely win that tiebreaker.

After we lost last Monday, I thought we'd need to win the next three just to get back to where we were Monday morning, which was needing to win the rest of our games at about a 75% rate.
Now, the other teams have lost so much, that I think we're back to square one already before we play on Friday. Just win 3 out of every 4 from here on out, which is still a pretty tall order.

So we're now 4.5 games back of the Rangers as well?
Our three game series against them is going to be pivotal for both teams. |

Not wanting to get flamed for this, but I can't see them doing it. Would be happy to see the winning ways continue into next year, but you never know.

At this point, we're in a dazed stupor, unable to communicate coherently, wondering if this is real.
