re Poe:
can anyone think of a DL who has improved as much from a rookie season to the start of his second? he was just a guy running around last year, couldn't even really hold the point of attack, and now he looks like no shit a young ngata...like he passed several stages of development and went straight to beast

to be fair, the entire situation around Poe has improved. The entire team looked like dogshit last year; conversely, everyone looks a lot better this year.

oh, he's a beast, no doubt. but I expected him to improve; he has better coaching, a better scheme, he has a lot more help. Last year was an abomination.

Last year, this game would have been about a 42-6 loss, because we couldn't stop anybody and we didn't force many turnovers and made more than our share. While I would LOVE to see GREAT football in KC, at least not beating ourselves is a big step in the right direction. |

Truly and thoroughly enjoyed this again, thanks.
![]() Yes, I saw Albert very animated with his guys on the sideline when the commercials ended, but I could only guess as to what exactly that was about.

Excellent write up. They did show a quick view of the players together over there-but had no idea it was Albert. 2 weeks in a row Albert has been the man. Last week coming to JC defense on the cheap shot, now this week.
Glad we didn't trade him. Defense was awesome in the second half-wow what can you say. |

I hope they make him an offer during the season and get him sewed up. It's hard to find good starting tackles. Just ask San Diego about that.
Also... Treat yourself and read the sports page of the Dallas Morning News today. They've already called America's Team "Weak" and "Dysfunctional." They don't take losing well, nope.... http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/ |

Thanks for the insight, George - good stuff.
I don't know that I entirely agree w/ you regarding the volume. Sure, it was louder, but it wasn't approaching the SD game. It wasn't the Baltimore game either. 1/5 of the stadium being Cowboys fans had something to do with that. If these guys keep winning, the stadium can be louder than it was. Ultimately, I expect that it will be during the Raiders game. If we're able to hang in during the Broncos game it will be as well. I've been in awe of the crowd before at Arrowhead and while I was happy to hear it back to respectable, I wasn't in awe today. The most impressive thing about that game to me was the fourth quarter and that was why I was so upset about the BS holding call on Berry. There was no question - absolutely none at all - that the Cowboys were not going to be able to score a TD to win that game. When we had a 4 point lead with 8 minutes left and were able to keep winning the field position battle, the game was simply over - these guys were not going to be able to drive for a TD to win it. With Berry's interception it was a done deal. Then they took it off the board and yeah, all hell broke loose. But the most amazing part was just the supreme confidence that the defense inspired in me and I haven't felt like that about any Chiefs unit since maybe the STs unit with Hall. I certainly haven't felt that good about the defense since DT was in his prime. Offensively there's certainly more to do. And for the "THROW IT DEEEEEP!!!" crowd, there weren't WRs running open downfield like there often was in the Cassel days. Reid just isn't sending his guys downfield. Will he need to open it up a bit? Yeah, I'd like to see him do it, but that simply wasn't the gameplan today. And to some degree, those that are criticizing the execution of the offense aren't giving credit to the real culprit behind the Chiefs struggles - Sean Lee. That guy was everywhere yesterday. Maybe Reid should've known better than to run an offense centered on attacking Lee's zones, sure - but let's not refuse to give credit to an opponent that simply made it difficult to operate. As good as Ware was at points throughout the game yesterday, Lee was simply a monster in every facet. On outside runs he was sealing the edge, inside runs he was hitting the hole and forcing Charles to slow/stop. In coverage he was blanketing those crossing routes. He was just outstanding and without Lee, the offense would've been much better. There was some system failure here, but Lee really made the offense work. Final quick point - man, Fisher really struggled. At this point he's a clear downgrade from Winston. He's the weak point on this line right now and there's not a close 2nd. And having watched Joekel get beat up and then Lane Johnson commit some key penalties and miss blocks for the Eagles, I'm pretty sure the pundits were right here - this was just an ass draft class across the board. Dion Jordan hasn't done much yet. There's going to be some stars, sure, but it's pretty amazing how far most of this class has to go yet. I still think Fisher will be a great one - the athleticism at his size makes it hard for him not to be, but it seems like there really wasn't turnkey contributor in this draft. It's disappointing, but it will give us a chance to see Dorsey's scouting acumen. This was a scouts draft, for sure.

Never did see the holding call on Berry? I mean wtf- that was a last gasp from the refs to help the boys-pretty obvious by they way they let the Cowboys line hold our D line ALL FREAKIN GAME.
They are America's team though-lol |
