Are You a Left Lane Dick ?

A general term for anyone found cruising in the passing (left) lane, holding up the normal flow of traffic.

As someone who commutes 120 miles a day, there's nothing worse than stupid, inconsiderate drivers.

My least favorite is the Betty white's who drive 45 on the interstate. A close 2nd would be the people, esp big rigs, who drive to fast in wet or snowy conditions.

Yes. That annoys me to death as well. I'll tell you what's even more aggravating though. That's when you are flying along at 10 over and you are quickly approaching a truck doing the speed limit or maybe a couple of miles over. He wants to pass, but rather than waiting the 30 seconds it would take for me to get around him, he just mps over in the left lane and forces me to wait forever for him to pass the vehicle doing 1-2 mph less than be is driving. Ugh!! Now that's a dick!

When you have an opening and need to pass, you take it.

Chances are there are several more cars behind you he'll have to wait on.

And as I've already mentioned, 2 MPH may not sound like much, but when you're driving 10-11 hrs a day, it adds up.

No. Actually, when this happens the road is clear behind me. If I'm in a line of traffic, I get it. But when I'm the only car in the left lane for miles, the dude can wait. I know what it's line being a truck driver. I have my class A. I've been a truck driver.

Yep. And when you're trying to be on-time and trying to make it to a destination before your hrs expire, it's a big deal.

Commuters have an advantage over commercial drivers - if they leave 30 minutes earlier it's not an issue...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

That used to seem to happen to me fairly often... out in the middle of no where with no hills (the momentum argument), coming up on two trucks and one waits until the last second to get over and pass. Yeah, I'm going ~10+mph faster, but that just happened to be their window to pass and their world will come crashing down if they don't pass the other guy in that few seconds.

Not sure how you meant this, but in my experience, you don't get your next load info until you've sent an empty message.

Try to keep in mind that trucks don't brake or behave in any manner even remotely close to a passenger vehicle.

So, while a truck may make you slow down some(Boo ****ing Hoo), you can always make up that time and distance in a matter of seconds.

And yes, some commercial drivers are assbags and should not be on the road.

VARSITY
We have two places up here where two semis sometimes have to travel side-by-side until they can find an off ramp. Around Casper Wyoming and Livingston Montana, fully loaded semis will drive next to empty semis to keep heavy crosswinds from blowing the empty trailer over. I'm always patient with them, but I can see people going ape-shit crazy in their cars over it. Personally, I've seen a parked trailer blown over onto a Sheriffs car, an RV flipped and a loaded semi blown all the way off the road.

I cant stand the guy that flys up in the right line gets on the slow cars ass and trys to cut in to the line of cars in the left lane waiting for Mr 74MPH in the left lane to get around and over. I always close the gap between me and the car in front to keep his ass in the right lane.

Drivers in America are saints compared to drivers here in Korea. Asian driver stereotypes are pretty much true for the most part.
