I think you should do more.

These guys are going to hijack every thread and make it an Alex Smiff thread if you let them.

The topic is "Chiefs vs. Niners". There are plenty of story lines from your #1 pick to RB depth to Defense.

Guys like this would ruin the FOOTBALL discussion on most threads and hijack them into Alex Smith discussions. Don't let them. Just ignore every reference to Alex Smith and let them jabber about Smith while you guys discuss Knile Davis, Poe, Fisher, the D.

Tragic thing is, if he wasn't afraid, he would be approaching elie.

As it stands, he's mediocre.

Alex Smith probably is the best thing we could have done for this season. I've been saying that for awhile. But in terms of what he cost us and what I think he'll do for us, I don't believe him to be the best thing we could have done for the future. But that's not even close to what we're talking about.

One series in one preseason game against the Saints defense. That's all we have to go off of. I'm not going to say Alex's checkdowns last week mean he can't distribute the ball effectively enough, but I'm also not going to anoint him as this refreshing change from Matt Cassel because he didn't do jack ****ing shit. I just need to see more. I want to see him throw it to oh... I don't know... how about a wide ****ing receiver?

I in no way have been damning Alex Smith. I'm just saying I better see something besides a checkdown toss in one of these upcoming preseason games.

Also, you're saying I can either have checkdown magician Alex from last week or Matt Stafford, Sac. How about we get a QB that makes good decisions and can also chuck it when there's a golden opportunity? Just because I want to see Alex get the ball to Dwayne Bowe doesn't mean I want him to go full reerun like Jay Cutler.

I'm interested to see how well the Oline holds up against the 9er D front. It's a good group and a big test for the O line. I'm also interested to see how the front 7 holds up against the 9er Oline which is also a good group.

The passing games will be vanilla, the RB's won't get enough carries to have flow. I'm interested in that segment of the game, but I don't put as much stock into it.
