The DB was just about to leap 15 yards through the air and undercut that route, bro.

Don't confuse Alex Smith's fans for 49ers fans. 49ers fans have thieir QB and it ain't Alex Smiff.

Who was available in either the draft or free agency that was better than Smith right here right now. Which QB was going to provide the team the best chance to win right now so that the talents of high level guys like Charles, Hali, Bowe, Johnson, Flowers, et al., wouldn't be wasted? Which guy? And Checkdown Charlie took full advantage of what the defense gave him, led the team to an opening possession touchdown. That's just ****ing horrible though, isn't it? Like I said, if bombing shit downfield makes you happy, the Lions would love some more fans. Stafford to Johnson all year long. Super exciting shit. They also pick in the top five nearly every single year. A double bonus to drafturbators as well as the "if a QB doesn't throw every ****ing pass 40 yards, then he's Checkdown Charlie" and obviously sucks ass even though the West Coast system that Reid runs is predominantly based on the short to intermediary passing game with high percentage receptions being the norm versus low percentage downfield shit bombs thrown. |

Since you have advocated Smith getting injured in order to make you happy, I think that you should offer up yourself for some similar injury if he actually does good. Put your money where your mouth is, so to speak. If Smith does good, is a league leader in completion %, QB rating and leads the Chiefs to the playoffs this next season, I think that you should let one of us hit your in the leg with a baseball bat full swing or something similar. Maybe cut off your pinkie finger. That sounds relevant to you calling for Smith to get injured, don't you think? |

These guys are going to hijack every thread and make it an Alex Smiff thread if you let them.
The topic is "Chiefs vs. Niners". There are plenty of story lines from your #1 pick to RB depth to Defense. Guys like this would ruin the FOOTBALL discussion on most threads and hijack them into Alex Smith discussions. Don't let them. Just ignore every reference to Alex Smith and let them jabber about Smith while you guys discuss Knile Davis, Poe, Fisher, the D. Don't let these guys ruin your forum and discussions. |

All we need is a QB who is unafraid to take advantage of opportunitie down the field when those opportunities present themselves. Alex Smith demontrated, time and again, he is not that QB. Tragic thing is, if he wasn't afraid, he would be approaching elie. As it stands, he's mediocre.

One series in one preseason game against the Saints defense. That's all we have to go off of. I'm not going to say Alex's checkdowns last week mean he can't distribute the ball effectively enough, but I'm also not going to anoint him as this refreshing change from Matt Cassel because he didn't do jack ****ing shit. I just need to see more. I want to see him throw it to oh... I don't know... how about a wide ****ing receiver? I in no way have been damning Alex Smith. I'm just saying I better see something besides a checkdown toss in one of these upcoming preseason games. |

Also, you're saying I can either have checkdown magician Alex from last week or Matt Stafford, Sac. How about we get a QB that makes good decisions and can also chuck it when there's a golden opportunity? Just because I want to see Alex get the ball to Dwayne Bowe doesn't mean I want him to go full reerun like Jay Cutler.

I'm interested to see how well the Oline holds up against the 9er D front. It's a good group and a big test for the O line. I'm also interested to see how the front 7 holds up against the 9er Oline which is also a good group.
The passing games will be vanilla, the RB's won't get enough carries to have flow. I'm interested in that segment of the game, but I don't put as much stock into it. |
