Bills fans acknowledge hopelessness after watching SB

Porn posted in the predawn hours after the Chiefs victory in SBLVII. They also have a 100 post Zayne Anderson thread and dreams of poaching Wylie and Neon Deon Bush

Regardless though, they have some serious issues with the cap and their starting defense. Plus, they don't have much depth on that side of the ball either, it sounds like.

I think they probably still win their division next season, but they won't be good enough to beat either CIN or KC. Might not be able to beat JAX in 2023 either.
Is there something about QB coaches-turned-OCs that makes them forget about the OL? I know that's why they have an OL coach, but as the coordinator they clearly have to be involved with works best for the players they have.

It just seems like there's been a run of these former QBs and/or exclusive QB coaches who are now OCs (or OCs who became HCs). Reich, Nagy, Pederson, O'Connell, Taylor, Dorsey, Kafka...

And there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but it does mean you can't just sit in your office messing around with the playbook all day. At some point you have to get your hands dirty with the OL, and I feel like so many of these guys just seem to be really hands off when it comes to that stuff.

I was just thinking how awkward it had to be for Von to have to go back in and take that fake lombardi out of their trophy case that he put in there for some weird motivational tool. I would really like to watch a video of that.

It will be interesting to see if Cincy can maintain this level of defensive performance over time as they begin paying bigger money at QB & WR.
24 points scored by the Chiefs last season in the AFC Championship... but the point remains. Just had to be that jerk to issue the correction

Originally I was going to say that OCs would have to be on top of their OLs, but the more I think about it, you may be onto something. I mean, we've seen some terrible decisions made by OLs in 2022, and eve more daming, some just horrific 'adjustments' made by QBs with their protections. Or, conversely, not making any adjustments.

Hurts was guilty of that at least a handful of times in the SB. He literally didn't make any adjustments to his protection pre-snap on the play where he fumbled. And that was a really different look Spags gave him on that play, but he just ignored it. I mean, I get that Jason Kelce was basically in charge of making those reads/adjustments, but i feel like Hurts could've saved himself some wasted plays if he'd spent a second making sure his protection was going to at least block a LB here and there.

Anyway, maybe a lot of these OCs just don't think about some of that. Or maybe Spags took advantage of a young OC in more ways than we knew?

True, so the Cincy defense has given up 23-24 points in the worst case scenario for their last 2 Playoff runs. That's pretty amazing when you look at how some of the other defenses have performed the last couple years in the Playoffs. That includes supposedly great defenses from Philly, Buffalo, & San Fran that have struggled in some big games.

It about can’t be, because the protections change as the play changes and as the defense changes. So you can dick off and do cool shit and awesome route concepts, but it’s going to change the blocking scheme, especially if it involves the TE. And the really damaging TE plays are when they feign blocking and leak out after the coverage bails.

It almost can’t be.

But nothing would surprise me anymore.

Buckle up Bills fans bc you’re out of cap space, your 3 best defenders are coming back from an ACL and neck injury while the 3rd is a FA and your best weapon is pissed off.

They are gonna be worse off next year and the division will be harder now that Fangio is in it and the Jets will surely upgrade Nicky from Mike White at QB

Patriots offense will probably be quite a bit stronger as well. Bill O'Brien isn't a great coach, but he's a much better OC than the dipshits Patricia & Judge.

The best defense in the AFC is Baltimore but who knows what they are going to do at QB.

Hopefully they get someone good enough to challenge Cincinnati but not good enough to scare us in the playoffs.

Their defense is legit and legit enough that it has boosted up Burrow's reputation more than it should have been. The guy does jack and shit for large portions of each of his playoff games especially the 4th quarter while his defense gives him the glory for the 2-3 prayer balls he lobs up for his all star WR core earlier in the game. Burrow does have elite accuracy and processing but that defense is why they have had that success despite their offense not being able to even put up a 30 point game yet.
