Welcome to 2013! Now get your ass in top physical condition!
**From the 2012 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

No, I get it. If my funds were that low, I'd be buying food too. I'm sorry I assumed you were referring to the cost thing, which people bring up but simply isn't true. Buck, work that corner for some extra dough, homeboy!

I'm getting weaker. I think.
This is the last week of the last cut of the year for me. Time to bulk this winter. |

I've been "bulking" since mid-summer. I'm still getting used to the unsightly fat gain in the midsection.

What exercises do you like to pair with deadlifts? I have been doing deads and legs for the last few months, but it's too demanding on my lower back (been really sore and very stiff the next two days).
Pairing deadlifts with other back exercises would make sense, but I like bent-over rows and it seems like that combination would also be too taxing on the lower back. Suggestions? |

Just build up your endurance for the lift and lower back over time. I also use a belt for the deads/squats. I would never pair deadlifts with any upper body exercises but that's just me.

I do squats/deads same day (no belt) but I'm pretty young. I still have to roll out on the PVC pipe the next day cause the lower back gets sore.
