Sorry, no way in hell I want to put my eggs in the basket of unproven goons or guys that never lived up to their potential.
We need center, RG and RT.

Given the draft's weaknesses at C, the only OL position I'd be comfortable with taking in the first two rounds is a RT, and it can't just be some asshole who's available that we should take just because there's a need. |

Again, the business of football isn't about building a team to compete in just 2016. The reason we need to draft linemen is because Stephenson, Allen, and Sherrod are all in the final years of their contracts. So lets say that Allen is adequate at RT or better yet is solid like Jon Asamoah was. Are you guys ready to sign him to a long term deal worth on average 5 million a year? I'm sure the hell not. Allen is the best of the bunch, and while I can see him playing well, I think we could once again be in the situation where he's not worth what teams are willing to pay.

Arik Armstead
I get the same feeling when we jumped on some rising star the pundits said we would select remember Jackson. He may have a bunch of upside but hell we already had a first rd pick sitting on the bench most of last year. Over half of his 87 career tackles are assisted and a total of 4 sacks 2 of them half sacks. Just not feeling this as a first round pick, the guy may turn into a freak on the next level its hard to tell with all the hype and late risers.

I like Ereck Flowers more than I do La'el Collins. You guys are short-changing Flowers, yet seem to have blinders on when it comes to Collins. I'm not sure Collins can play tackle in the NFL on either side. I at least have confidence Flowers can play right tackle.
It's not a great year for tackles, they all have flaws. Pretty similar to the year Fisher was drafted actually. Only good thing is some of these guys have solid right tackle ability. There are more good looking guard prospects in the tackle class than there are tackles. And if the Chiefs draft Arik ****ing Armstead, I'm going to cry. He sucks. If the game against Ohio State was any indication, he's going to get destroyed in the NFL until he learns to do something besides run into the chest of blockers. |

i might cry a little if this is how our draft goes. we have 3 quality starters at DE in Devito, Bailey, and Howard and another guy with a high celing in Catapano. we have 2 quality starters at safety in abdullah, and parker. a borderline all pro when healthy tyvon branch, and of course an actual all pro in berry, who could return, nobody really knows...
Eric Rowe is a much better safety than corner, and his man coverage skills are suspect. i like miller, but i dont think we need a guard at all. grubbs at one spot. and we have a nice amount of comp at the other spot. and fulton didn't do that bad last season. edit: just read you planned to move miller to center.. not sure how i feel about that. could work. i also feel RT is a hole that needs to be addressed, and you didn't draft a single one. i do like the rest of the picks, but disliking 3/4 first picks ruined the whole draft for me. |

If free agency is any indication of how crazy and desperate some of these owners GMs and Coaches are we are in good shape at 18.
All its going to take is a few teams if Gordon Gurley, a 3rd QB, or any combo of 3 players go before we pick it pushes a better player to us. Not real crazy about any player after about the 14 pick in the first round, and a trade down would not hurt my feeling one bit if we can pick up an extra 3.

I seriously doubt either have the atletic abitity to ever be quality starters. Nd certainly lack the athleticism to consistently pull and to get out in space. They are barely stop gap quality.

Maybe LDT will be the answer. He has the athletic ability and it sounds like he'll be given the opportunity to compete for the position.

Jesus Christ...
He only ran one route in college with suspect hands. No ****ing way. And crow, please stop with Flowers. Have you watched him play? Have you seen his feet? His horrific kick slide? I'm not kidding you, he might have the worst feet I've ever seen from a purported high graded tackle. I'm not kidding. I can't watch more than three snaps without going ****ing ape shit about how bad his feet and lateral agility is/are. WORST. EVER. |
