Chiefs fans being kicked out of Arrowhead for 'Fire Scott Pioli' signs

I guess fans in Kansas City aren't appreciative of the team working so hard to get the first overall pick.

"Please do not give my compliments to the ," say Kansas City fans. "Take your business elsewhere," replies Scott Pioli.

Any sign calling for the firing of the Chiefs general manager is being confiscated, or the fan risks being kicked out of the stadium for the day. A representative of "Save Our Chiefs" was temporarily detained by Arrowhead Stadium security and was told to stop passing out fliers or he would have to leave. There was a well-coordinated "blackout" by fans in protest of the Chiefs' awful performance this season and it would have looked great if the stands were at least 50% full.

Maybe we can assume that the stands are so empty because there are just that many people that want to express their feelings about Pioli and maybe there's just not much to see today with the 1-8 Chiefs hosting the 4-5 Bengals. What we know for sure is that the fans feel that their first amendment rights have been violated (they likely haven't) and that the Chiefs have not exercised their right to bear an arm at quarterback in a very long time.

It just shows what an insecure, pussy Pioli really is. I bet if someone had a "Pioli is Great!" sign it would be allowed

Yes this is exactly right.

The 1st Amendment means that Congress cannot censor your freedom of speech. Eventually this was applied to the states as well.

I don't see any way that the Chiefs or Scott Pioli can be seen as identical with the government. Thank god for that, because the government sucks enough without Scott Pioli being part of it.

These nebulous "well there's some tax dollars paying for the stadium, so that means they have to follow Constitutional rules" arguments are well, just too nebulous. They can exclude trespassers as it is private property (why you have to buy a ticket) and as pointed out they can throw you out if you don't follow their rules, just like a movie theater if you start making phone calls or whatever.

Now does this mean they aren't gutless p*ssies for doing this? Absolutely not.

As I mentioned in another thread, legally is there anything you can do? My guess is it would be very difficult.

But... I think every single person who was told not to do something that was very harmless should: 1) let someone in the media know; 2) Send a letter to Clark Hunt. Both in a very respectful manner.

We need to send a message that the Chiefs of old embraced the fans. The Chiefs of today are disrespectful to the fans. A new regime that respects the fans will bring back Arrowhead to what it was.

If "promoting negativity" is grounds for getting kicked out of the stadium, then why wasn't the team kicked out?
