Got a Ferrari 430 F1 Spider up to 120 yesterday. Amazing!
It was the most exhalarating experience outside of a bedroom I have had in my life. The F1 is the the Formula style transmission which is a up shift paddle on the right and a downshift paddle on the left of the steering wheel.
You basically punch it and when the RPM's hit 7 you hit the paddle on the right. The monster has the roar of a race car. I drove from Newport Beach to Laguna Beach. I hit 120 and then backed off. It could have done much more needless to say. The rest of the trip I was cruising 10 MPH above the speed limit and would get board and would downshift and punch to go 10 MPH faster for the fun of it and the sound. When the trip was ending I was in traffic on a 50 MPH road. I didn't get much above 60 but I did get to that speed fast. It's my brothers car. He had a 355 before which I got on much more aggressively. The pure power and sound of the 430 was off the chart. If you ever have a chance to drive or rent 1 do it. It is awesome. (Spider is convertible. Had the top down along the beach with 80 degree weather.) Here is a picture with the same color except black leather with gray stitching. http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...sigb=124078pr7 |

Now that you mention it I do remember the EXP. That was after we split the Toyota Corolla. He is doing well. He manages investments for people. He used to work for the same company that I do until a couple of years ago when he and my dad joined a different firm. |

Nowhere near a Ferrari, but I was pleasantly surprised at my little GTP's grace under throttle. Was heading back to KC for the 4th, when I came into Blue Springs from the east on 70. That little stretch of congestion just before you hit the big valley before Independence Center was particularly douchebaggy, with folks cutting others off and perverse sign language being exchanged, so as I cleared the crest before the valley, I went out to the fast lane and stepped on it. Less than 1/4 mile later, I looked down and was going 126.

It's been a while since I've felt jealousy like this.
Some great machines in that garage.

When I drove his 355 it was the only time he said he was scared in the car. From a stop light entering the toll (on ramp) road I passed 3 cars on a curve at 95.
That was fun. He then told me about how much more power the new car had and said I could go as fast as I want...in a straight line. Turns with the power are where you get into trouble. |

I got my buddy's TA up to 135. That was enjoyable, although I'm sure driving that thing was a bit more fun.

The fastest I have driven was back in '90 in my Moms Turbo Supra. I think I hit 145 (maybe 150). I was on 69 South and the cars a 1/2 mile in front of me were a concern because they were in my lane. When you are doing 145 and they are doing 60 you tend to come up on them pretty fast. |

I got my Dad's Vette up to 150 it was pretty cool, but for the most part when I take it out I just go the speed limit and watch all the stupid people try to race me. I might actually buy it from him soon if I get my new job.
