I've always wondered about the 40 times of NBA players.
What do you think Stockton was running at the end of his career? Or Shawn Bradley? ![]()

That is a tough question. Both sports have some great athletes. But I would love to see what position LeBron James would play in the NFL. He is 6'9 275, is one of the fastest players in the NFL and can jump out of the gym.
He would be an unbelievable WR... The size of a DE and the speed of Randy Moss ![]() |

To say that LBJ would dominate in the NFL is ludicrous. You cannot know for sure, and he plays basketball without pads. Some people seem to think if you are really athletic you would play basketball, and not football. While that may be true, not everybody can get the acquired skill to be good at basketball. I can tell you this, the most athletic guys at my high school were football players, and not basketball players. They tried to play basketball but just couldn't hit shots or didn't have the fundamentals. In football you can get away with your sheer athletic talent for a long time, in basketball you see countless nonathletic dudes playing D1 hoops though. |

I just looked at last years NBA combine results and laughed. Guys that people assume are great athletes showed, well, they just aren't. I'm a KU guy and Darrell Arthur had a 28 inch vert, and benched pressed like 185 11 times. What a joke. Darrell Arthur looked as a real athletic guy too. Then I went to look at wide receivers, corners, safeties, and tight ends in the NFL. I didn't see any that couldn't bench 225, not 185, 14 times or beat a 28 inch standing vertical leap. And those were the WORST guys.

Definitely. You are correct. The guy in my avatar is an example. Same can be said about those really tall oafs in the NBA that are 7 foot 2 and are slow as molasses. I guess what I'm trying to say is the BEST ATHLETES are in the NFL, not the NBA. Which is undeniable. Even look at the quarterbacks, alot of them can run 4.7 to 4.8 40's, which is pretty fast. I know alot of fat asses sitting at their computers will say they ran that in high school, but we all know they didn't. At least Damon McIntosh has going for him is he is probably very strong, and rather agile and quick for his size.

You do realize that Priest Holmes was probably running like a 4.7 in his later years, right?

I timed a 4.83 and that really isn't fast. My best friend was fast..he ran like a 4.45. That's fast. There's a big difference between 4.45 and what I ran. Big difference. |

Everybody that has came with me has at least ran .2 higher than what they thought they could ran and waaay lower in all compound lifts. People are naturally lie about their athletic talent all the time. I laugh my ass off whenever I'm tailgating at arrowhead and I hear guys go, yeah back before I tore blew my ACL in high school I could run a 4.4 and bench 375. LOL I honestly will extend this offer to anybody who thinks they can run under a 4.65. Although you may just be a great athlete and are not inflating how athletic you are, but I bet 9 out of 10 people that say that run no where near that fast. |

This isn't even really a question for anyone who watched "The Superstars" series in the 1970's. Football players owned that competition. Basketball players were not really competitive although they generally did better than the race car drivers and golfers.
