Just got back from my first cruise

Was pretty sweet. 7 day Caribbean cruise. Lucked out and got upgraded to a mini-suite. Water was a little rough, got a touch sea-sick the first day but other than that it was cool. Great entertainment. Think I will have to do this again.

Only thing good about cruises is what you do off the boat at your destination stops.

The problem w/ that? - A lot of those excursions you have to pay out of the ass for. I wanted to swim w/ Dolphins. I paid out the ass for it, but did it because it was something I always wanted to do and I didn't know if I'd ever get the chance to do it again.

Other than that there's not much difference in a cruise ship as there is at your local Harrah's casion/hotel.
-Buffets
-Casinos
-Hotel rooms
-Music lounges/bars
-Old people
-Restaurants/shops

I was on the cruise ship that caught on fire in the middle of the ocean off of CA about a year again. Carnival Splendor. I wasn't on it at the time of the fire per say, but it was the same boat, I was on it just months before that happened.

Unfortunately, owning a plantation just wasn't in the cards for our vacation this year.

I went on my first cruise over the last Thanksgiving Day break. It was the most relaxing vacation the wife and I ever took. We're usually the types that need a vacation after our vacations but the cruise forced us to kick back and enjoy.

We mixed in some thrills too. We rented a scooter and toured the island of Sint Maarten. I hadn't been on two wheels with a motor in a long time and traffic was crazy.

I also don't think that I'd do Norwegian again. We thought that we'd like the water slide and some of their other activities but there were too many kids. And the food was just OK. A lot of the people we met thought that we'd prefer Celebrity.

Clearly you've never been on a cruise out of Miami.

My parents who are avide "cruisers" said they didn't care for Norweigan either. They said Celebrity is one of the best but it's mostly old people. We were on Princess this cruise. Not many kids at all and yea, a bunch of old people but not too bad.

Parents were also into cruising. Had a lot of good times in my younger days. Mostly Royal Caribbean. There was...a lot of talent on those ships.

Princess seemed to be all of the salty dog's 2nd choice.

Where did you go?
