Evan Mathis?

I read that he's in talks with Miami...for $2 million a season. Can't they cut Fanaika without suffering much financial damage? He's practicing with the 3rd stringers..

If the guy is going to play for around 3 million a season...he's definitely worth it...not for the 6-8 million he was after though.

We're not keeping 4 ****ing guards on the roster when we're so weak at OT depth. That would be stupid.

Just because Mathis is available doesn't mean we should sign him. We're in the exact same position as 20+ other teams who MAYBE could use an upgrade at OG, but adding Mathis just isn't worth it to them.

Then we have Laurent Daverny-Tardiff, who played both LG and RG, and was nothing short of impressive.

He's starting at RG Friday, and if he plays nearly as impressive as he did on Saturday, he will lock down that spot, and Fulton will be a capable backup.
Yeah...hopefully they continue to play well. Seems like O-line injures have already hit....dont want to get caught like last season. I was just surprised he was in talks for around $2-3 million. Someone is going to get a good deal...and I hope is isn't the ****ing Broncos.

Barring further injury, the offensive line is set.

LT: Fisher/Stephenson
LG: Grubbs/LDT
Center: Morse/Kush
RG: Fulton/LDT
RT: Stephenson/Pughsley

There are enough moving parts there where Stephenson and/or Pughsley can play right or left tackle, Morse could play center or right guard and LDT can play left guard or right guard. Fulton has even taken snaps at center this offseason.

There is absolutely no need for Mathis or Fanaika and maybe even Jeff Allen, who can't stay healthy enough to evaluate at right guard or right tackle.

I wouldn't put that in stone just yet.

LDT might win that job at RG when it's all said and done.

With him performing well Saturday, and with the ones today, that certainly has some credibility.

Right, for sure. I just listed them, not so much a depth chart.

Actually, it would be awesome if LDT won that job because Fulton looked greatly improved over the 2014 season.

I'm just happy that Andy and his staff are following through on their promise to start the best five players.

That said, I'd personally like to see a line in preseason with Fisher/Grubbs/Kush/LDT or Fulton/Morse.

Morse played well but didn't appear to be an upgrade over Kush and I'd like to see him at right tackle because if he's an upgrade over Stephenson/Pughley, that would kick ass.

Got a feeling they try to stash Pughsley on the PS to keep a spot for Jeff Allen. Hope to be wrong, because Pughs wouldn't last on the PS.

Pughsley has actually shown the ability to play at both left tackle and right tackle throughout camp and in the first preseason game at an average or better clip.

Given the fact that he's a second year guy from Akron (same as Justin March), I'm more than inclined to give him a roster spot over Jeff Allen, who struggled at left guard and couldn't stay on the field for half a game at right tackle in 2014 or 2015 and is in the final year of his contract.

IMO, it's Pug's job to lose.

I'm gonna keep my stock on Pugs just warm for right now and see how he performs the next couple weeks.

Would like to see them start cutting bait with more shit Pioli picks. Stephenson and Allen are the only shit****s left.

Contrary to camp reports, Stephenson performed well Saturday night.

Allen sprained his labia, again.

Add to that, swing tackles, especially young swing tackles, are at a premium. Pugs wouldn't make it through waivers.

Stephenson is another dude I would wait and see on. Would be nice if we could get a real RT for once.

On Saturday night, he performed like he did during the 2013 season, not the 2014 season. I expect that to continue and for him to have a roster spot in 2015.

Now, that doesn't mean he's the right tackle of the future or anything amazing but he's an adequate right tackle and has an important role as swing tackle.

I thought Stephenson did well too, just want to see them put up a good fight against the Seahawks also.

Oline mostly did well and made me look dumb with pregame discussion. That's okay with me.
