Reckless/negligent injury to a child. Indicted.

This league may not be able to sustain too many more of these black eyes. It's a mess.

It was once believed that bloodletting was curative, that the Earth was the center of the universe, that miasmas caused illness, and that living organisms spontaneously generated from broth.

The accumulation of knowledge, observation, and the application of the scientific method disproved all of the above, and thousands of others.

Anecdotal pieces of evidence without statistical support are called old wive's tales for a reason.

Just because it's "always been done that way" doesn't mean that it's correct or beneficial. Certain tribes in Africa would disagree with you if you told them that burying twins alive was barbaric. They've always done it, too.

What evidence do you have that using a switch is an effective and useful form of discipline? The methodology of granpappy isn't sufficient.
I think your biggest issue is you are full of yourself. You think you are so enlightened and smart you cant possibly be wrong. That's all over every post you have ever made.

I am not a genius but I am far from stupid.

I am fully aware that because grandpappay did X that X isn't necessarily right. No shit professor.

What I stated is there is no evidence that right now is better than when he grew up or my dad did. You didn't dispute that. You just went blah blah blah which you are good at.

There is zero evidence that I have seen or you have provided that stated that less corporal punishment occurs now and that the state of society is better today. Or that there is any correlation.

So you can take your pompous as usual opinion and stick it up your pompous ass until you can can provide such proof.

And calling me stupid while proving no proof of your opinion is pretty ****ing stupid.

so what do you do if the kid continues to be out of control? dont say its bad parenting, what if one child is great, while the other is just a menace(which i have seen hell, neighbors across the street have 2 out of control kids at times and the middle daughter is a delight, so nice) Then what do you do? sit them in the corner?

Why is whipping your kids okay? Because the parents believe it's for the child's own good?

You can justify a LOOOT of bad shit with that excuse.

Know the psychology of the kid. Some kids respond better to having things taken away from them, while others respond better to other forms of punishment.

If the kid throws a shitfit, take their phone, restrict computer or TV access, or don't let them hang out with their friends.

There isn't just one way to discipline a child.

I think each kid is different, in terms of how discipline should be used.

I was well behaved as a kid. My parents never spanked or hit me. My father was horribly opposed to violence against kids because he was hit with switches and rubber hoses. He swore it was horrible abuse and only a coward would inflict such suffering on a child. I'll take his word for it.

Apparently according to many people here that has never happened in the history of ever. You apparently MUST beat a child for them to behave, because they have anecdotal evidence and confirmation bias to back up their claims!
