Tomorrow's draft will be anti-climactic ....

after picking up Surtain today.

But I am also pretty laid back about it now. Carl has another bad day, oh well, he did the right thing with Surtain.

Still looking forward to the draft but with much less dread.

Seems that's the way it kinda works with DV as coach. I've called Davis as our pick but after hearing a few things on the NFL Network yesterday listening to the Rams Head of Player Personel and then realizing that they have two 3rd round picks I think there's a real good chance we trade down with them. I think Carl may be on a roll..........

I don't think that Hall has the size to be a full time LDE.

I think that with Allen on one side and Hall on the other, stopping the run could be a real problem.

As much as I think Hicks needs to be replaced, he still is better suited to start at LDE than Hall.

I'm hoping that Wilkerson suddenly reaches the potential that the Chiefs saw in him, and can displace Hicks.

You may be right about Hall but wasn't he playing/starting at LDE for Tenn ? Yeah i'd like to see Wilkerson step up since I was calling his name at that point in that draft in which we picked him. If I see Stills at LDE I gonna....well not feel good about it.

Stills, on D, is about as useless as Bartee.

He's a freakin' pass rush specialist that has 8 sacks in 5 years.

Almost nothing would make me happier than never seeing Stills on the field on D, ever again.

If it was not for Stills value as a special teamer I don't see how he makes it onto this years roster. I won't mind if he does not.

Randy Covitz was on 610, and he said that from what he knows, the Chiefs will be staying put at #15, and will take the best available. They can't afford to take a risk on getting more picks and having a bunch of "maybe" guys, especially with their draft history. He said he sees them getting a player with a better chance to help out this year with the 15th pick than trading down. Either on offense or defense, the chances are better to stay put.

Well, since staying put is the smart thing to do, the Chiefs will probably trade down and get what he said some "maybe" guys again this year. If you don't learn from it, history will repeat itself...perhaps even for 16 years. hehe

Exactly - I'd STAY PUT at 15 but I believe that Carl will want to trade down to get that 2nd back. If it were me, I'd look at it like we get the 15th player in the draft and we didn't lose the 2nd - we got Surtain in the 2nd! - and in the process improved our 5th round position. If we STAY at 15, there's a pretty good chance that for the first time in years, we'll get TWO guys that can play immediately and help the _efense. Just my take on things.

Yep.

DV was on the radio this afternoon and he looked at it like you did. He said Surtain was their 2nd round pick.
