1st-If you are going to nit pick at the intelligence level of blacks, you should first check your own....

Arithmatic=Arithmetic. (And in the sense in which you were using it, there should have been an "s" on the end). (There should have also been one on the end of ebonic)

And saying "that means math".. was completely uncalled for.Just the mere suggestion that you think a black person would not know what arithmetics means is utter ignorance.

As far as your last comment, it is my belief that unless you are black, grew up in a black neighborhood, have black parents, or have mostly black friends, then you are completely unfit to make any comments about blacks, the way they live their lives, or anything else to do concerning them. And no, I'm not saying that I at all agree with the young black man whom you were responding to on the other bulletin board, because I most certainly do not, but your comments were way out of line.

It was MY opinion(and I mean not to speak for anyone else)...that the NAZI statement was meant to show you how a rediculous inflamitory remark about a deceased RAIDER player might make more sense. The statements by BRONCO ROB were rediculous, and I don't see how you can take away the work done off of the field by DT away because he was a human viagra machine.....In no way should he be compared to the likes of Ray Lewis, Ray Careuth, OJ Simpson,etc....because he liked to get a poke. His contributions to the community far outwieghed his lack in judgement of not using a condom.

I think this is a false proposition espoused by many well meaning, sincere people ~ that unfortunately propagates racism.

If I believe that you are inherently incapable of understanding me, my attitudes, opinions, political paradigms, or religion simply because you have a different background, environment, experience, or training than I, then there is zero hope of the human race ever working together, or trusting each other, on anything.

Obviously this is false.

I can understand and empathize with a large number of people that have varied experiences. As human beings, we all have much, much more in common with each other than we have things that separate us.

Luz..... Thats not how I meant it. What I meant is that I believe that it is hard for anyone, whether black, white green or orange to understande certain things about another person unless you yourself have been through what they are going through. I also meant that blacks in this country have to go throughand deal with things that others could in no way fathom unless they have experienced it. And thats true whethere or not anyone agrees with me. I do, however, see your point luz.

I also believe I can understand the point that you are making. I would, however, ask you to reflect on something.

When it comes to race relations, generalizations always kill us. When dealing one on one with any individual (regardless of how different they are from you), you simply cannot make assumptions about their background, experience, paradigms, etc. This is not just a race issue, it is a personal growth issue.

I would suggest that the healthy attitude to hold would be more along the lines of, "who cares if I'm understood."

As individuals, we are all responcible for our own destinies, regardless of the obsticals placed in front of us. The only guarantee any of us have in life is that these obsticals will not be fair.

If I were 'KING FOR A DAY' I would outlaw any public utterance of excuses for anyone. I would protect minority groups by not allowing anyone to suggest that they are not strong enough or smart enough to earn their own way and excell regardless of unfair obsticals.

I would not rob them of the dignity of achieving on their own without any 'special' help.

I would be compassionate by refusing to believe that the color of their skin has anything to do with their ability to achieve their dreams.

If we did this, racism would end within one generation.

I have to disagree that people should hold an attitude as such: "Who cares if I'm understood" While I see your point, I have to say that I more than likely speak for alot of people when I say that there is often nothing more frustrating than to be misunderstood. I agree with you that it's not a race issue, and that's not what I was trying to make it. (I'm white and black, so I can't side with one or the other). But I think it is important that we are all understood. Not everyone has to agree with everyone but everyone deserves to be understood.
