This is the "grass is always greener" mentality. Pinkston has done nothing in his time in the league. Webb made some mistakes in the game the other night but he has a much bigger upside over Pinkston.

If anyone really thinks the Chiefs should get into the season with Jeff Webb as the 4th WR, that means you're comfortable with a guy who didn't get 2 feet in on an easy ball makes tons of mental errors and frankly can't catch getting on the field if anyone gets hurt. The Chiefs need another WR pretty badly. |

Apparently not only have radio commentators not gone over the middle in the NFL, Pinkston himself hasn't gone over the middle to catch a pass either.

When he was trade bait, I thought we should just ignore Pinkston, but now that he is a free agent, and we might be able to sign him for the vet. minimum, I'd say he's worth a look.

Todd Pinkston-WR-Eagles Aug. 30 - 11:57 am et
Eagles waived Todd Pinkston. That didn't take long. After checking around the league, the Eagles are likely doing their long-time player a favor by releasing him before an avalanche of cuts happen this weekend. Look for the Vikings to show some interest. The team also cut backup QB Koy Detmer and signed A.J. Feeley. |
