Growing up in Columbia, my only exposure to KC was on cable channel 41, which I would watch religiously every Sunday morning. "Cisco Kid," "All-Star Wrestling," "Lone Ranger." The commercials are still fresh in my mind.
"The loan arranger rides again." Catchy tune:"Call 321-2277 anytime night or day." |

Anyone remember Save-On Furniture? They had some big fat dude named J.R. pushing their really crappy furniture.
There was also the car dealer that was the home of the desk smashing good deals where they would hammer a desk with a wrecking ball. |

Col. Billy also used to do the ads for The Gold Buffet. I never ate there, but I remember the ads.

What about the Dad and Son that were selling used cars? They are/were black and the kid would ask his dad about having all these cheap cars and such. I just remember the way the kid would say "DAAAAAAAAD". Come to find out he went to Pembroke Hill and my friend used to kick his ass in wrestling. Oh yeah, they were fat as hell too.

There also used to be some commercials where they would sell cars and take still shots of the hood closed and the hood opened. Then the voiceovers would come in and they would make it look like the cars were talking with the hoods going open and shut. Lame.
