*.* 2013 General Fitness Thread *.*
Welcome to 2013! Now get your ass in top physical condition!
**From the 2012 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

I hate that protein powder by Biochem gets the thumb down from silock - I was looking forward to the seal of approval - hey - their dairies use cows who are steroid free. so there's that - yeah boyeeeeeeee! and it's mixing capability is phenomenal. How does the biochem stack up in fat comparison?

Scivation's nutrition info doesn't add up to the claimed calorie number, either. It's actually about 10 cals more than they say it is. I'm not trying to bash Scivation. The differences aren't huge. It just seems as though ON is a little more honest and gives a higher quality protein than Scivation does. Scivation's XTend is an awesome product, though. I love it. |

Also, I am only recommending gold standard whey from ON. The performance whey is garbage, and the hydrolyzed whey is not only unnecessary and overly expensive, but tastes awful.

Gold standard taste any better? I need to get some more protein, I bought some cheap crap from hyvee that didn't look terrible but they put way to much sweetner in it. My wife doesn't like the taste of the ON chocolate performance I had.

I'm just adding up the calories on the label. 21g protein x 4 cals, 3g fat x 9 cals, 4g carbs x 4 cals. That's not 120 like it says. Weird. Maybe they have to round up on the fat content or something.
