Even the "experts" are wrong all the time. Or learning something new all the time.

And, like everyone else, the "experts" are also people who can be affected by bias from a number of different areas/people/factors. Personal subjectivity will lead an "expert" into some of the dumbest shit ever.

And with the NFL draft, there are things that no one can predict - the human "heart;" the inner working of the mind and the desire that only comes with experiencing something and embracing it; the passion, etc.

There is no way that even the scheduled meetings at the combine or interviews with Gruden on ESPN are going to determine these things. If they did, Tom Brady would have been the #1 pick. London Fletcher would have been a top five pick. Randall McDaniel a top five pick. Jared Allen a top five pick, so on and so forth.

The "experts" are guys who are doing a job. Maybe they suck at it like your co-worker or a dude you know who's also been doing their job for 10+ years. Maybe they are good.

In other words, if you performed root canals at the same success rate that the BEST talent evaluators in the league hit on draft picks, the ADA would string you up by your testicles and have you publicly flogged.

And I'll say this: people damn well better be a little bit skeptical and apply some level of critical analysis, even when being treated by medical professionals.

Does anyone else remember when the Bionic Woman had to fight that Hal-knockoff computer - and one of its big defenses was to fill the room with foam that sucked all the oxygen out of the air?

That's what the stupid is doing in this thread.

If Dorsey and Reid chose to pass on Geno Smith and go off the reservation by taking a guy that is considered a reach, fine. I applaud them for making their own decision and I hope it works out.

But...if the player they choose doesn't live up to their expectations and Geno goes on to destroy worlds, they deserve the ridicule for their poor decision and us on CP will be right again.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Just like any previous coach/ Gm combo, I tend to give them just enough rope to hang themselves with.

However, this is a unique situation in that it's probably the biggest offseason this franchise has had in quite some time. Can't have a swing and a miss in regards to player acquisition.

I think some fans are under the impression that people like me are going to go off the deep end on Reid/Dorsey if they pick anything but Geno at #1 overall. That's simply not true.

But if they take ****ing Luke Joeckel or Star Lotulelei at #1, I WILL ****ing be livid. I will be livid if we trade for Alex Smith, Kirk Cousins, or Matt Flynn and DON'T draft one of the top QB prospects in the draft. I will be livid if they equate what is claimed by some to be a bad QB class with a class that involves not drafting a single ****ing QB at all.

Just because Reid and Dorsey aren't Scott Pioli doesn't mean they shouldn't be shit****ed if they trade for their version of Cassel and draft their version of Tyson Jackson. And I would hope that after all we've been through with that shitshow, people would be way smarter about that kind of thing.

If they give up picks for any of those three guys, which they would likely have to do as they are all under contract, I'm going to be pissed.

Jason Campbell is as good as any of those dudes and is an UFA.

If they pick Joeckel #1 while being one draft and one season FA removed from Stephenson, Allen and Winston, and don't make a reasonable offer to Albert, they can suck my winky.

If they pick Lotulelei #1 after picking Poe with the #11 pick last season, they can go scrape out my ass tracks from my undies with their teeth.

If they take a pass rushing end #1 with Hali and Houston on the roster they can get raped by a water buffalo.

If they take Chance Warmack #1 they should be shot in the face repeatedly. And that's not even considering that they took Hudson and Asamoah recently.

If they take Manti Te'o #1, see above. All of the above.

The only logical, rational and sane choices that they have are Dee Milliner at CB or Geno Smith at QB.

And I'm not convinced that Milliner is substantially better than either Banks, Rhodes or Amerson (they are all long, big, fluid press cover guys who would be ideal opposite Flowers), and one of those guys is going to be available with our Round 2 pick.

Whereas the left overs from the QB position are going to be substantially less than what Geno brings to the table.

That's how I see it in a nutshell.
