Crennel wasn't just aiming at Pioli, he was also aiming higher. That's right, Roger Goodell himself. He didn't trust the replacement officials to properly call a touchdown, so he forced them to officiate an extra period. It was a giant middle finger to Goodell to get the deal done. Truly brilliant.

I could just imagine the conversation at 1 Arrowhead Drive today...

Cassel: Scott, WTF, man? Why wasn't I given a chance?

Pioli: Well, Matt, I', just as confused as you are. I think I will have to have a talk with Romeo about this.

Later on ...

Pioli: Romeo, WTF? You just announced to the team not to mention the entire league you think Cassel sucks! What the hell are you doing?

Romeo: Trying to win a ****ing game with your shit QB on the field!!

I think these are bullshit talk radio hosts bullshitting.

NO coach worth his salt would trust Cassel, especially when the run game was just tearing up the New Orleans front seven. It was SMART coaching. And if Cassel was offended or Pioli "received a message", so be it.

Haley would have lost that game yesterday by a wide margin because he would have forced Cassel into situations he's incapable of handling.

I agree and whether the message was intentional or not it was still a message sent. There really is no other way to look at it.

This isn't anything that anyone watching the Chiefs since 2009 wouldn't know to do.

Except for Todd ****ing Haley.

I'm not saying it's a revelation that Cassel sucks. I am saying when your coach blatantly demonstrates he has no faith in you it speaks louder than a bunch of fans screaming it.

Teicher with a great combo of questions after the game:

Teicher: When it was 24-6, did you consider benching your QB?

RAC: No.

Teacher: Why not?

It's only game three, and there has been more pressure exerted on Pioli and Cassel this year than the previous three years combined.

This, in itself, is pretty damning. There was no defense of the QB.
