I'm firmly in the draft Geno/Wilson at 1.1, and then in preference:
1. Sign a vet QB like Vick, Hasselbeck, Matt Moore.
2. Draft a guy like Dysert or Bray in middle rounds.
3. Keep Cassel as the backup.
4. Trade for someone else's backup.
Wait, wait, wait... you want to keep Cassel around?

Reading comprehension. Make it your friend.

There are two other options I'd prefer for our BACKUP position.
-Sign a vet.
-Draft our own guy.

Cassel's fine as a backup. That's what he is, and his salary drops to a reasonable amount for one. I think he's toxic and will ultimately be cut, and I'm fine with that. I'm great with that.

But giving up a pick for someone else's trash for our backup?

Yeah, no.

For the record, I don't think most people read the article. It says Draft Geno AND bring in Foles if available/possible. Then makes a decent argument for why it's not a bat shit crazy idea. If that first part is there, I've got no problem with it.

On the other hand, which world is this where "Cassel's fine as a backup?" I can't COMPREHEND how anybody would even trust cassel to test toilets because he craps his pants so often, much less be our backup.

Agreed. Even if that means bringing him in at a higher pick. But I doubt Philly would make this kind of a move.

As for Cassel as a backup, why in the world would we pay $7.5M for him to be a backup? There are more talented veterans out there. I still wonder if the Chiefs will look into Kolb (as a backup). Not saying that's a great decision, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Cards cut ties with him and there's the obvious Reid connection. I feel like he could be had at a high-priced veteran contract.

How is it the same thing you always do? You always trade for Nick Foles?

What is all this 6th round stuff? The guy has 1st round value. You NEED a QB. You don't see that? Philly is not going to trade him for a 6th round pick and you NEED a QB and he's really good. What is up with the people who wouldn't make that trade?

If foles is so good, Philly would keep him.
We are tired of getting other teams castoffs.

Geno smith has the potential to be great. Go visit the geno smith thread.

Which is why I said "morons".

In case your dumb ass doesn't understand this, an "s" attached indicates plural.

If we draft Geno Smith, I don't care what they do with the rest of the draft picks this year.

If we moved our third for him, I'd be totally fine with that. There was a time when he was in the conversation for a first round pick.

Geno Smith
Nick Foles
Ricky Stanzi

Get a corner with the 3rd round comp pick we should get for Carr and a safety with our second rounder ....then a MLB with our fourth and let's roll.
