What does your dad (and/or mom) do for a living?

My dad was an MD in a small Kansas town. My mom raised 5 kids. Sorry if this is a repost.

My dad has worked for Halliburton for over 30 years now. He started out in the field and on oil rigs. He was on a rig when I was born. Now he sits behind a desk and goes to bullshit meetings. He was also a Jehovah's Witness elder for about 15 years before they kicked him out because I was a "bad kid."

My mom raised three kids and had a few odd jobs along the way.

You shouldn't talk about your mother that way, who ever she was.

Not quite that pulp, I was more just meaning of the newsprint variety. For over 30 years he put out the Grain Market Review at the Kansas City Board of Trade.

He actually covered a police beat for the KC Star for a while. He had some great stories about hanging out with cops and mobsters back in the 50's.

The 50's? Your dad must be a lot older than you. You seem a fair bit younger than me, and my dad didn't graduate high school until 1959.

Dad quit school in the 9th grade and did this and that until settling on car sales.Ended up owning his own lot and then eventually bought a salvage yard which he gave up about 8 years ago to retire at 51.

Mom was the very first employee of one of the Dairy Queen's here back when cones were a nickel. She ended up spending 30+ years there and now draws disability thanks to a nasty fall she took.
