Our coordinators

No one is surprised that Cassel couldn't rise to the occasion (Pats fans have long lectured us to love and accept this mediocrity), but both Crennel and Weis got their asses kicked.

These guys have rings, I expected better.

We have Charles, Moeaki, and that worthless midget McCluster....why couldn't we run that short middle stuff that the Ravens were killing us with?

And we couldn't throw a simple slant to Bowe?....Really?

Ravens destroyed us on 3rd down. Our early blitzes were worthless. The defense got better, and held them to fgs for a awhile, but we couldn't get them off the field in the first half when it was crucial.

It was obvious on the first drive that the Ravens OC saw a weakness in our defense, and exploited it.

I thought we had a great chance to win largely based on the pedigree of our coordinators. Still shocked.

I agree, I put our defense collaps on our offense failures to produse long sustained drives. One of my biggest disapointment was watching Jones this season. He had a few good games but he was a drive killer for the most part especially at the start of games. I feel that Jackie Battle could have done a better job and Jackie Battle has a chance to be around for the next several seasons. Jones took away playing time from other younger guys. Yea it's nice to have a vet like Jones but not at the cost of developing players that needed to play. The excuse for Jackie not to play was he was a special teams guy. WTF. Maybe Jackie would have failed but he didn't get the chance to do either succeed or fail but we are going to need him next year. Jones has to be replaced.

I think Jones, Chambers, & Vrabel should be offered a coaching role, fine with that. They are old and no good going forward with this team. They took valuable playing time away from developing players.

I have always hated the TOP talk and gassing players. The offense is also out there. If you sub properly you should not be more tired then your opposition. Now it does matter for chances of winning because you control the ball longer and limit the opposition having it.

Lilja was an upgrade over last year, so was Wiegman, Waters is mailing it in, Albert is still learning, and apparently we are just cursed at RT and will never find a player that can do anything more than just be a speed bump.

Some people want to blame Weiss or Haley, and that’s fine, some of the blame definitely falls to them, like not using JC at all in the second half, how does that even happen? But no matter what the scheme was yesterday, the talent wasn’t there to pull it off. Charles runs for 9 yards three times in a row, go out for a breather, and Jones gets back to the LoS. Bowe doesn’t get open or even try to it looked like, and Cassels reverts back to shitting himself instead of being a legit QB. If you are a QB in the NFL, you should know exactly what intentional grounding is, and avoid it, not make it blatantly obvious that you’re doing it. That play right there was the beginning of the end.

Believe it when you hear that the strength of schedule is why the Chiefs got into the playoffs this year, and be prepared for next year to go back to be a sub .500 team again. Cause if they don't address the offensive needs in a major way, teams will just load up, stop Charles, and put the game on Cassel's shoulders. And, well, we all know how that ends.

This is pretty accurate. I havent seen many comments about this, but our salary was the lowest in the league.(I believe ~80 million in 2010). The annual salaries of the top teams is like 150 million, or almost double ours. Until Clark Hunt ponies up the money, we will always be competing at a disadvantage. If the Players/Owners strike a deal, I better see Clark getting out his god damned wallet. This is crap.

My personal favorite was when Casshole had about 47 seconds to throw the ball, nvr flushed out of the pocket and slanged it about 15 yards out of bounds. That one was pretty. I bet he literally DID shit in his pants, yesterday.

His wife never really lived here in KC, and I think we are possibly better off without him.

However, even though I really like Coach Haley especially after the inmate's running the asylum coaching styles of Herm and DV, we need to retain talented coordinators to be successful. I really hope Romeo sticks around for the long haul.

If anyone has a terrible reputation for working with others, it's Weis. It's well known in football circles that he has an ego the size of Texas, and in my brief encounters with him it sure seems accurate. He is extraordinarily smart, but he's a "my way or the highway" guy when it comes to schemes and gameplans, and is a bit awkward in social situations.

Also not sure where you're getting that bit about Weis' wife. They still have their huge pad in South Bend, but she's been living in KC. I don't think they ever really embraced KC though; it's been more of an in-between spot to sit before they figured out where they really wanted to go. Charlie's son was originally planning to go to Texas, but when the Florida thing came up they all decided to make it happen.

I don't know why Weis timed events the way he did, and I suspect that his decisions hurt the Chiefs' chances somewhat. But Romeo Crennel performed exactly as he should be expected to perform: to the best of his very shitty abilities.
