"What's the harm in Alex not throwing TDs to WRs? We're winning, right?"
Well, there you go. |

Duron's HOF pop didn't have a good head on his shoulders when he came into the league and was using quite a bit of alcohol and cocaine. Pops produced in his 2nd and 3rd years in the NFL but Buddy Ryan still cut his ass because of the use. Carter didn't turn his life around until Ryan and the Eagles said enough is enough.
No surprise the apple didn't fall far from the tree with his son Duron. Perhaps the NFL saying "No" at first opened Duron's eyes, much like it did his dad's. The kid has some talent, but needs some work. He isn't as good of a route runner as his dad, but he'll need to be because he isn't all that fast (running in the low to mid 4.5s). I'm not saying Duron will make it, because he hasn't shown the talent his dad has. His only legitimate body of work is in the CFL. His only on-field collegiate production is as a backup at Ohio State for a year and at a Community College... He's never been able to keep his grades up high enough to play. That's my concern, even if the kid has some talent, is he intelligent enough to learn the playbook? We'll see I guess, but I'm not holding out high hopes just because his dad was one of the best ever. |

A Minnesota paper says he likes the Vikings the best so far?

No doubt I believe that the paper wrote that, but I find it hard to fully believe the paper is correct. Yes, he spent his childhood around the team, but he signed with the Vikings and they dumped him his first go-around. I'm not sure he'd go back to that same situation? Perhaps he would, but I'd think he'd begin to look elsewhere.

@caplannfl: Former #Colts WR LaVon Brazill worked out for the #Chiefs on Thursday along with WRs Duron Carter. Joe Morgan, and Da'Rick Rogers.

Duron Carter courted by Colts, Vikings, Browns, others
The*Colts*are closing in on another tantalizing young wide receiver. The Indianapolis Star reported Sunday that the team*remains a front runner*to sign Duron Carter, the son of*Hall of Fame wideout Cris Carter. The talented CFL standout reportedly has whittled his choice down to a*pair of finalists*after also being courted by the Vikings,*Panthers,*Chiefs*and*Browns. The Star noted that Carter -- who can't sign with a team until Feb. 10 -- is gravitating toward the*Colts*because of the presence of quarterback*Andrew Luck*and a passing attack that offers wideouts a genuine shot to put up big numbers. Carter has dealt with off-the-field problems during his college and pro runs, but his 1,939 receiving yards over two CFL seasons have NFL teams intrigued. With*Hakeem Nicks*set to enter free agency and*Reggie Wayne*facing potential retirement, the*Colts*need to add a young playmaker across from the explosive*T.Y. Hilton. We refuse to get overly excited about Carter -- a project player with issues -- but signing him would help the*Colts*get their offseason started on a promising note. |

Someone else can have Carter's slow ass... Da'Rick definitely sounds like the better prospect to take a chance on, physical ability-wise.

The radio guys here quoted someone to the effect of
"If you want a lazy cancer in your locker room..." I know-does not sound like a reliable source-but they were talking Minnesota sports, so I don't care.

Colts sign Duron. Now for another round of bitching when Duron burns us in the playoffs about how 'Alex isn't good enough'
