I hope he does. I don’t care if it is bad for the locker room.

I'm craving a public call-out. I want Kelce to say, straight up, "we need a change at quarterback"

PLEASE Travis, run your mouth for the good of the team!!!

All I keep hearing on the radio is how bad the OL is. Don't they get the fact it's all connected? Throw the damn ball down field and all of a sudden the running game works and the OL starts blocking just fine.

Look it, the OL blocking sucks...the play calling is absolutely ****ing abysmal....but when given chances, Smith has not come through. I defended him as much as anyone. All QB's miss receivers or make bad throws. He is doing it consistently.

It's true.. and this last game is almost certainly the answer to the original question.

Look, I know the players like Alex. They even respect him.. but they likely do not think he is all that he should be. They're not wrong.

He had his chances. He got his payment. He should not have one spoken complaint when the decision to start Mahomes comes. This decision should be made public by tomorrow. The Mahomes Era must come now.. even if sooner than planned for.

The run game is abysmal. The playcalling has been shit. But all of that still doesn't excuse Smith's play. A spark is clearly needed.. and a QB change is the ONLY thing that has any chance of providing that spark.

Sorry, Alex. You're a great dude, but have done all you can do, and it ain't enough for what KC needs.

Happy trails, old friend.

Exactly!

The Steeler game reminded the Chiefs team where they really stood,in reference to being truly a contender to win the AFC! They reminded the Chiefs trenches that they are soft and can be pushed around. And most of all they reminded Smith of his severe limitations in reference to throwing into the zone into tight windows and his unwillingness to do so for whatever reasons giving the rest of the league the blueprint to shut down our offense which has worked these last six weeks. And for what it is worth the Chiefs looked beat before that Steeler game was ever played. So once Smith and the offense recognized every defense is going to play them this way you immediately saw the psychological funk set in deeper and deeper each week until now.

Naw man.. Mild disappointment is all I can muster for this.

You know, you don't have to blame me for what Smith has become. I felt Smith could get better.. and thought he was doing just that early in the year. Dude fell off a cliff. Oh ****ing well.

Given Conley and Geoff Schwartz's tweets, the offense probably still supports Smith fully.

The defense I wouldn't be sure about.

Neither one of which I could give 2 squirts of piss for. I don't care who on this offense gets pissed about benching Smith. There are 2 players worth a shit, Kelce and Hill. Everyone else is either a rookie or worthless or both. Kelce and Hill both would probably silently welcome Mahomes.

If I were Veach, I would trot that piece of shit Alice Smith on the field next season and finish his contract. I would get as many "best position available" players on the offense/defense as I could through 2018 draft. Have a losing 2018 season and keep my draft picks through said season. Go into the 2019 draft and hit it hard with "best position available" and have a solid foundation around our young QB. Start him off with a solid Oline to protect him and hopefully some gem WR's to throw to as well as a revamped defense. Then watch our future unfold. This is not going to end pretty at all this year as well as next but the future seems bright

Just my .02
