Welcome to 2013! Now get your ass in top physical condition!
**From the 2012 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

**** that looks gooooood. What kind of seasoning on the shrimp?
Paleo starting to kick my ass, I think I need to add in moar carbz. 405 on deads felt heavy as hell tonight. Hit that for 8, 455 for some triples then did some front squats and glute ham raise, weighted crunches and hopped on the treadmill behind a hottie for a bit to 'cool down' :P. Food from yesterday- Breakfast: 6 omega 3 eggs, 4 pieces thick bacon lunch: 1/2 rotisserie chicken, salad w/olive oil & balsamic, couple small apricots dinner: 10oz sirlion, suateed mushrooms & onions, asparagus I have no idea how many calories, but im down from close to 230 to 215 over about 7 weeks. I will prob start figuring out the cals as everything starts to plateau. |

Day 2 was a bit rough, but not too bad. Definitely sore.
I consumed 1,000 calories today and 40 g of protein. I bought whey protein which was 24 g of protein, ate 2 eggs and had some chicken. I didn't exercise that much today. I walked a mile and then ran a 5k. Decided to go hard on the last 50 kilometers and felt something in my right hamstring. Lathered up my whole legs with icyhot and am about to pass out for at least 10 hours so I can have the energy to run another 5k tomorrow. After looking at the scale today, I've lost almost 1 lb (.83)

My bad my tiredness is making me do dumb shit.
Here's what I had. Whey protein-24g 1% milk-9g (forgot to add) 2 eggs-12g chicken-30g Other small miscellaneous stuff-10g So roughly 85 or so grams of protein. I feel like even that is weak sauce and I need to try to double that tomorrow. I think the cutting down on calories is affecting me. My body is just not used to it yet and running 5k's everyday and going to the gym without many calories to use is making my energy lower than it's used to.

Also, I'm starting to feel slightly sick. Not too bad, but it's noticeable.
I wonder if that's because of the low calories and high energy I'm using? I'm running at night too so the heat isn't a problem. Water consumption could be part of this as well. I have been drinking it, but probably not enough. I have drank 11 glasses of water the last 2 days (25 ounce cups)

Yes, drink more water. Also, try some caffeine to boost your energy (and also suppress appetite). |

Started riding a bike again. Sophomore year of college I weighed in at 200, best shape of my life. Well get a girlfriend and I gained about 70 comfort pounds. So the last 3 days I have rode a total of 12.5 miles. Nothing to get that excited about, but it's pretty good since I haven't done any type of substantial workout for the past couple of years. I started my meal replacement shakes (ideal shape) for breakfast, then a snack of some tuna and whole wheat crackers, then another shake for lunch, don't know what I'll have for a snack or dinner. I'm going to try to stay off a scale for probably a week as not to get too discouraged.

Just got back from another 5k.
Got on the scale for the first time since Sunday and I've lost 1.6 lbs. At this rate it looks like I'll be losing around 8 lbs by the end of my 16 day quest.

I would bet your sodium is high if you have cut calories that much, started exercising and aren't seeing weight loss. Many times when people cut carbs, they go for higher protein foods but salt the **** out of them. Resulting in water weight gain.
