Would you trade the no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

We ran into this topic late Saturday night in another thread.

I personally don't like Cam at all. He's got a ton of talent, but is an absolute idiot. He can't even learn a full playbook. Newton has put up some big numbers, but they haven't translated into a lot of wins.

He is 13-19 as a starter over 2 years.

58.9% comp | 7,920 yards pass | 40 passing TDs | 29 INTS | 1,447 rush yards | 22 rushing TDs |

Would you give up our no. 1 pick for Cam Newton?

Just going back to your post...you lousily listed off the 2013 Seattle Roster with zero clue of who actually played or contributed that season to make a point. You have zero credibility.
We were arguing just the WRs as a unit, of course you bring Olsen into this. The fact that you have to bring Greg Olsen into this proves to me your admitting Cam's WRs are in fact, a garbage unit of WRs at the NFL level.

Greg Olsen is in like 10th year in the NFL, it took him 10 years to have a career year. Tedd Ginn is in his 10th year in the NFL, it took him 10 years to have a career year. Jonathan Stewart is in his 8th year in the NFL, it took him 8 years to have a career year.

Isn't it just a coincidence how all these "good" players on the Panthers all of a sudden took a ****ING DECADE TO HAVE THEIR BEST SEASON. Is it because they are good players on their own? Or is it because the 26 year old Quarterback on their team is finally entering his prime and possible elite franchise QB territory and carrying these players to the best production of their career?

The talent around Cam actually sucks. A bunch of 30 year old skill players that put up okay stats for 10 years ho humming around the league, now have outlier seasons in terms of stats but hey it's not because they are playing with one of the best young players at the most important position or anything.

But yet you're going to argue that the WRs and RBs and TEs are all studs carrying Cam Newton just like you sat here and argued Brandon Siler is better for the Chiefs defense than Derrick Johnson.

Makes sense.

Wait, coming from the guy who said Russell Wilson had an elite level of wide receivers in 2013 and i) raved about an undrafted Baldwin who only had 5 TD's on that season ii) you state Percy Harvin was money for them yet he only had 1 catch that entire season

Do you even understand that RW didn't have a reliable TE to throw to?

Do you even check your facts before you post? That Carolina running offense has been sensational behind that line. They run more than they pass. They are the opposite of a Patriots offense.

Cam Newton accounts for over 600 yards and 10 TDs of that rushing offense.

Thank you for putting words in my mouth, because I never once called them an elite group of WRs.

The exchange is LITERALLY A COUPLE POSTS BACK AND YOU STILL CANT INTERPRET IT CORRECTLY.

You said that what Seattle had was "below average" like Carolina (basically you admitting that Carolina's WRs, do in fact suck, which is the point of this entire argument, which you initially tried to argue they are good, but then admitted twice afterwards indirectly they aren't, but you sticking your foot in your mouth is besides the point.) Anyway...

Thats actually a pretty decent group Wilson won with. Cam is playing with guys that wouldnt even sniff other NFL rosters

I called the Seahawks WRs "pretty decent" in comparison to the absolute turds the Panthers have. Pretty decent does not equal ELITE by any stretch. It's sad you have to make up stuff posters don't actually say to feel you win sports arguments that you actually lose.

In a New York minute, and I say that as someone that until say games 5 or 6 of this season, didn't get the hype about Cam, thought he was terribly overrated.

It wasn't the antics that bothered me, I just thought he was another runaround guy with great size... but somewhere around game 5-6 I watched a guy that was dicing teams up from the POCKET.

The guy is complete now, and that makes him deadly... he's now like Roethlisberger only three times more athletic.

Dumbass, Cam isn't running the ball between the tackles. They don't get credit for that, especially not when he has to bail.
