Chiefs Offseason Planet Evaluation: Alex Smith

Even the MVP must get a grade card. Let the world know what you think.

Alex played in 15 games with 15 starts this season (sitting out one game to watch the Ghost of Christmas Future). He completed 341 passes at a 67.5% completion rate, for 4,402 yards and 8.0 yards per attempt. He threw 26 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions. His quarterback rating was 104.7.

Atop that, he ran for 355 yards and 1 TD, at 5.9 yards per rush.

Just wait till next year oh wait you will follow Alex Smith to the Browns or wherever he goes so you will miss out on the Patrick Mahomes II Soul Train.
Mahomes has the benefit of starting on a talented team with an offense in place. He’s in a good spot to succeed but how the hell do you guys keep coming up with these guarantees if he had Kelce and Hill blah blah blah. One thing is for sure though with Alex... Hill, Kelce, and Hunt all went for 1k.

I don't know where to begin. This post is so full of fail. First of all, who says that the market isn't so good for him? We won't really know that until the trading period opens. Secondly, it's not just "Alexsexuals" as you mouthbreathers call them, that think that we will get a high draft pick for Smith. Most of us on the board think that. Those who think that we will get little or nothing are going to look foolish in March.

Bullshit. Bull-****ing-shit. If the Chiefs acquire a second round pick for Smith, ONE SECOND ROUND PICK, that will only prove that Veach is a goddamned, Hellen Keller miracle-worker, and nothing more.

And again, the only team that will pony up such a pick will be an absolute bottom feeder.

And you will NOT receive further compensation beyond that SINGLE, SECOND ROUND PICK.

Money?

Cards?

Throw that shit on the table, or piss right off, "jj".

Only 84% of posters want him off the team next year, so he must have done something right!

Alex's scores are unusual. Good grade, outperformed expectations, but with a strongly desired smaller role next year. Not a huge surprise given the circumstances.

3.11 Grade (4.0 point scale)
1.08 Performance Relative to Expectations (+ = Positive Surprise, - = Negative Surprise)
-2.72 Desired Future Role (+ is larger role, - is smaller role)
-0.18 Ascending/Descending (+ is ascending, - is descending)
2.65 Trade Value (Round)
