How is it spoiling it though? Even though he sucked last year, I would argue that Goff playing 7 games in St. Louis greatly helped him with experience heading into this season. 1 game isn't the same as 7 games, but I still think it would be greatly beneficial for him to see some live game action.

I'm pretty sure at least some of you would prefer we trade Mahomes and resign Smith to a 3 year extension.

I'm sure Goff playing in Jeff Fisher's vaunted offense was the springboard to better things this year.

If we win next week and its confirmed that Mahomes will start against Denver, I will be more excited for the Mahomes game than for our playoff game.

You don't spend two 1sts and a 3rd on a player to ride the bench for multiple years. Aaron Rodgers was a late first round pick and was sitting behind a future hall of famer. Literally nobody else in the league sits a player like Mahomes for multiple reasons.

And Alex is NOT cheap enough to keep. Like I said in my last post, we're still looking at an 8-8 season next year (at best) with him on the roster.

It has nothing to do with the system. Just live game action is a huge learning experience. Houston might fire O'Brien. Do you really think Watson will have gained nothing from his experience this year just because he might be in a new offense?

Lets see, put Mahomes in the last game of the season against a nothing team in a game that means nothing...and ONE game or part of game will provide how much benefit that would carry over until next year?
