We also get an optional holiday to take during Christmas and New Years. Plus one floating holiday for the year.

20 vacation days, 8 personal days and one floating holiday.
The new employees only get 5 personal days, but they didn't take the days away from the older ones. One of the few perks of having been there forever. |

I've never had to ask or check on PTO, other than notifying my boss when I'm taking vacation. I set my own schedule and take time off when I need/want it.
It's pretty amazing.

Sounds fishy. Although if you're a good employee who comes to work a lot, you're likely getting hosed with that setup. |

Before I retired I was getting 39 paid days off a year.
Bad part was my job was a 24x7x365 function and I was ALWAYS on duty. While my people did their best to not bug me when off, often there was just no way around it. Just thinking about that reminds me how much I appreciate retirement.
