If you believe that, your ass is aching, and you sure as hell haven't been watching the same Donnie Edwards I watched his first few years in KC, and then in Sandy Eggo and last year.

Edwards is anything BUT a thumper. He has good lateral movement, and used to have decent speed to clean up piles and sort through the trash.

Why don't you take a look at how many tackles he has behind the LOS for his career. I know I've seen him giving up 2-3 yards after contact his entire career.

What made Donnie Edwards so good was his ability to snag INts, (this year not so much). Donnie wasn't the most physical LB by any meens but he made up for it with smarts. If Donnie isn't getting Ints then IMO, he isn't worth the keep. I hope Donnie can get us at least one more good year just for fun, but I just assume go with a young LB from the draft to take his spot during the season at some point. Thanks Donnie for your time here, if only Carl Peterson didn't let you go the first time, maybe during the 03 campain we would have had a SB.

Jesum Crow, he had 127 tackles in '05.

I think he put up the big numbers on the weak side, but had to move over to the SLB when Hartwell got hurt. I was checking out some old Falcons boards and they liked him at the weak side. He was a 3 down LB, but on the strong side he wasn't strong/big enough.

Good signing I think. He can be extremely effective if they let him rush the passer. Apparently he wasn't allowed to do that much in Atlanta last year.
Bohl and Pelini turned him loose at Nebraska and he was the type of player that can be a disrupting force to a offense.

looks like he had a great sophmore season, then missed 6 games, and then had a so-so season...was he rehabbing a knee?

he's young, cheap, and has some potential....what's not to like?

Carl Peterson:

"We're very pleased to have signed Demarrio Williams from the Atlanta Falcons. He is a player who we liked coming out of college. He was a player we interviewed and considered drafting several years ago. At that time there was a difference of opinion with Dick Vermeil, that twit, and we did not take Demarrio. He is an experienced linebacker who is still very young and who we believe will continue to ascend as a player for the Kansas City Chiefs. However, every signing has a cost and I am happy to advise that I will be raising parking by $1.00 to help defray the cost of this acquisition. It's really a savings of 50% because I wanted to raise the price $2.00, but Clark talked me into the $1.00 parking. Thank you and be sure to send in your season ticket money immediately."
