Agreed.

If there are two movies to see all year, it's WallE for the emotion and Dark Knight for the ambition, scope and thinking required. In fact, I have to see it twice or more.

And Heath absolutely dominated. It makes his death even that much more, umm, meaningful.

I will go to see it Monday at the noon show. Shouldn't be that much of a crowd then.

I don't know that anything could ever top this. His performance is that good. Complete and utter disappearance.

Damn...

Quote:
Brought to life, quite literally, by an unrecognizable Heath Ledger who simply disappears into the role. And I mean, kah-put! Gone! Not there! Cyonara! I know, I know, this phrase gets tossed around a lot, but this time it is truly deserving and a painfully accurate discription of this tragic final performance. He vanishes. It's f^cking mind-blowing how good he is. Heath Ledger is absolutely astonishing, riveting, chilling, sensational, and brilliant as The Joker. There I said it. Again. Brace yourself for a cinematic villain for the ages. And prepare yourself to hear these words come Febuary, "And the Oscar goes to....Heath Ledger." Because it's going to happen. That's all I'm going to say.

And for the record, this will be greatly deserved. This is in no shape, way, or form an ode of sympathetic hype because of Ledger's sudden tragic passing. This is a fact people. The man has not only just delivered the greatest performance in a comic book movie ever but he has also just given us one of cinema's all-time great screen villians with his galvanizing and utterly mind blowing rendition of the Joker. There's Darth Vader. Then there's Heath Ledger's Joker. Even Hannibal Lector has to take a backseat to the 28-year old late Aussie. He's that damn good. It's the absolute definition of movie magic every time Heath Ledger is on screen as The Joker. Every move. Every nuance. Every twitch. Every jerk. Every tick. Every syllable is a subtle but wholly-solidifying testament to why our favorite movies and characters live in our hearts, minds, and very souls. This is why we go to the movies in the first place, people. Just wait until you hear Heath Ledger speak on "how I got my scars". He tells a graphic and horrifying story to each one of his victims shrouding secrecy and enigmatic aurora over his origin making his presence that much more mysterious, creepy and sinister. Wait til you see his "disasppering act" with a pen, it's incredible. Or wait til you see him in drag, dressed a nurse at a hosipital. Ledger takes it all on like he's having the time of his life. And I bet he was. The performance is legendary. And as if it wasn't already, Heath Ledger's legendary performance has made The Dark Knight the cinematic motion picture event of this generation. See it. Marvel it. Cherish it. And i guarantee you, you won't regret it. And you'll never forget it. It's extrodinary. Wondrous to behold.

Awesome movie. I"ll be seeing it again.

I agree with HC about the dark knight's voice - it is much worse than the first. Doesn't take anything away from the movie, but it is annoying.

Spoiler!
