I'll come right out and say it...

You did better than I usually do with Will Ferrell movies.

I'm in broadcasting, so I just kept thinking, "At some point, it's bound to get funny..."

I was wrong.

Also, I generally don't watch them at all. I think that's the only one of his comedies I've seen. I enjoyed Everything Must Go and Stranger Than Fiction.

I'm just not a big fan of that over-the-top style of comedy. I didn't like Jim Carrey (especially early on) for the same reason.

That one was weird for me. The first time I watched it I didn't finish it. I rewatched it like a year later and thought it was funnier.
I still think it's overrated, but it was ok.

I loved Anchorman, but I can see how some people didn't like it. My Dad hated it, I remember loaning it to him and he brought it back the next day and simply said "That sucked." usually he would just laugh when I loaned him a shitty movie but he ****ing chewed me out when I loaned him "The 40 Year Old Virgin", he was downright furious. I think he didn't care for Steve Carell.

it still pisses me off to think of the 3.5 hours of my life I wasted on this thing, and I've never forgiven DeGaggrio.....but at least I did get some rest.

The Postman gets a bad rap. I think people were still pissed at Kostner for Waterworld (which did totally suck), and they were also expecting mushroom clouds, post-apocalyptic destruction and mutants, which isn't what the movie was about. I thought it was a good, low key film, and probably a realistic potrayal of what would happen to isolated communities if the federal government broke down.
