You know what's cool?

The Chiefs have lost a LOT of games since Succop was drafted. Usually a kicker loses one or two games for an AVERAGE team in the span of 4 seasons.

You can BARELY make a case for one loss being pinned to Succop. He has never lost a game by missing a field goal.

That's all you can expect out of your kicker. If your guy misses a kick when you're ahead, it's the defense's job to close the door. If your guy misses a kick when you're behind but there's still time, it's the TEAM'S job to get a stop and then go score.

Blaming one of those losses on the kicker is like the Donks fans who still bitch about that no-clipping call on Dante Hall in the 2003 game. The refs missed the penalty, but there was 8 minutes left in the game.

Real teams don't hide behind kickers. And Succop has been in a LOT of positions where if he screws up, the team would hide behind him. Out of those possible scenarios, you can point to ONE that has any kind of case behind it (and even then, it's a bad one).

**** replacing our kicker. It's a waste of ****ing time, money, and effort finding a new guy.

Succop is a better kicker than Lawrence Tynes was when he was here...and Tynes was good enough to play for the Giants for the last six years...so **** all of you.

The Succop arguments are just stupid.

You don't need an elite kicker to win a SB.

Last 5 SB winning kickers:

Lawrence Tynes
Mason Crosby
John Carney/Garrett Hartley
Jeff Reed
Lawrence Tynes

Only Reed had a significantly better kicking percentage than Succop the year he won the SB.

80 percent kicker is just fine. The only reason you might lose a SB with an 80 percent kicker is because your QB is a POS.

Elite kicker? No.

Reliable under pressure? Yes.

Succop is fine for the most part. He just has a tendency to miss easy chipshots at times which can be really ****ing aggravating.

I can't think of a single pressure kick Succop has ever missed to be perfectly honest.

Succop nailed GW FGs against Pittsburgh (09), Buffalo (10) and San Diego (11) in his career.

He also made a 52-yard field goal against the Panthers last season that basically sealed a win late in the 4th.

And he's had at LEAST 4 games where the Chiefs only won because he made every kick in the game out of 4 or 5 attempts. Washington in 09, Minnesota and Green Bay in 2011, New Orleans in 2012.

He did miss a FG against the Steelers last year that would have given us a lead, but he also forced OT in that game with a late FG.

In pressure situations, he's done pretty well.

He is far from Lin Elliot.

It's refreshing to listen to real coaches instead of the unqualified boobs we have had in the past.
