Fescoe references a website that doesn't like Alex Smith

Quote:

Coming up tomorrow, we discuss what else...THE CHIEFS. How has Andy Reid changed the culture, one website does not like Alex Smith and why the hate from the national media may be a good thing. Plus we hear from a lot of coaches on the Chiefs staff, we hear from Bill Self and talk with Jayice Pearson at 9 and Lazlo at 930. Plus if you could have a non super hero super power what would it be? Fescoe in the Morning 6-10 AM on 610 Sports Radio
Am I missing something obvious, or is CP gonna get some love/hate on 610 in the morning?

I think you'd better check with your doctor regarding your hormone supplements because it seems to me he's giving you estrogen, not testosterone.
Because the shit has been hatched out a million times with reponses that pretty much match what Pablo said. Then somehow that line of thinking turns into "Want the Chiefs to lose so you can be right about Smith". That's just ****ing stupid.

Here is the kicker. I pretty much agree with you on this. However the problem is being able to do that with the offense while maintaining the defense. You just can't spend that type of money of the offensive side of the ball to make Alice a servicable QB and keep the #1 defense in the league. The thing to do would be to get a QB that can overcome the the short comings of the offensive line and WR/TE position. It's just not a situation where one can have their cake and eat it to.

"I think that most people are concerned with the offense. But despite what a very few but very vocal members state, ad nauseam, the blame does not lay entirely at the feet of Alex Smith.

Whether or not Smith was the QB of the 2013 Chiefs, the fact remains that the interior of the offensive line needs a massive upgrade, they're weak at WR (especially slot) and the roster doesn't have the kind of TE that's usually required to run a successful WCO.

All of those missing players with Alex Smith results in an offense that's struggling.

Duh."

The Alex Smith haters are overblowing his shortcomings in order to try to save face when they pushed the panic button after the Chiefs signed him. They are trying to save face for their strong stance that he sucks and is no better that Cassel.

Look, the offense has some serious protection issues on the O line. Does AS miss some guys? Yes. Does he check down alot? Yes. Guess what? Half the time he's running for his life, and often, our receivers don't get any separation. Put those two together, and you get either a check down, a poor throw, or a sack. AS didn't drop two probable TD's last week that were well thrown. The O line has been terrible, the receivers don't get open, and when they do, they often drop the ball. But AS is the reason the offense sucks?

Just once, us "true fans" would like one of you ****tards to admit that AS, game manager as he may be, has actually played a role in the team being 9-0. Thats all. If you aren't able to do that, then you don't know football.
1. Nobody is saying that at this point.

2. I don't know about others, but I've said as much. His legs and ability to not turn it over have helped to not lose games. He's had a key drive here and there. He's still about the 20th best QB in the league however IMO. I'd like to try to do better than that. I love being 9-0, but I'd like to keep looking for that guy that can be a top 10 qb in the league for 10 years for us.

Now can you admit that Alex Smith is whole lot more Steve Bono than Trent Green? Because yes, as there were Cassell comparison on one end there were also Trent Green/Phillip Rivers/Rich Gannon comparisons being made on the other end.

That has been proven even against an elite QB. The Chiefs are much better off with him at QB then anything they had last year. Those who complain about him are going to complain about him no matter what he does. No one is going to change their minds. They think they know better then Dorsey and Reid. It's sad really
See, more bullshit right there. I've seen many Alice doubters credit him for his performance in the 2nd half of the Giants game and stated if he can continue doing that they would be on board. But he hasn't. But feel free to keep making up shit and throwing a pity party.

It is not just black and white like that tooge.

Alex Smith is a huge upgrade over Cassel, and anyone that doesn't see that, is missing it. Does he have some of the same tendencies, hell yes, instead of going fetal he runs. Unlike Cassel, he doesn't give the ball away, and that is the main reason why has been an upgrade.

IMO, he has actually gotten worse since the first exhibition game. He is missing wide open receivers even when he has time, that he was leading perfectly earlier in the season. Is it because of the OL, or because he has lost confidence in them? Maybe.

My real problem with this whole thing is that it is the same ****ing thing they have been doing and I am convinced they will continue to do.

I am not wrong about Alex Smith, he is who he is, the facts are out there. I would dearly love for him to prove me wrong, but he is just another name in a long line of names at the most important position on the team.

I am enjoying the wins as much as anyone, and the win in Buffalo was almost like magic, or willed. Will things continue to fall the right way for the Chiefs? Hopefully and they will need to.

Boom! I like Alice the person and would love for him to be that guy for 5 years here, but it's not there. As much as we can wish it, speak it, and hope for it at the end of the day he is what he is. There was some hope Reid could make him something else but thus far it just hasn't happened.

It's not bullshit it's the truth sorry

I wasn't here during the Giants game so I can't speak to that. But I'll mention the last two games. All we have heard is how Alex sucks BLAH BLAH BLAH

Well lets see Cleveland

Alex was
24/36 225 yards 2 tds 0 int That sucks?

The Bills all we here is "All they could get is field goals" well if the WRs would have caught the freaking ball then they would have had 2tds But all we here is Alex Sucks.

But anyone talking about O line or Wr play is just what's the term you haters love to use "Alexcuses"

If you can't see that hate then your head really needs to be removed from your ass

regarding point #2, I trust that the Chiefs brass is always going to be looking for that guy that can be a top 5 QB talent. However, I'm also confident that they will do it without over reaching in the draft. I trust this front office alot. The moves they have made to put the team in position to be 9-0, merely 9 months since they took over, are remarkable. They have done the best job they could have in getting this team where it is. Whether or not they could have gotten a Geno Smith and had the same success, we will never know. It's a different offense, with different weapons, against different teams. We simply will never know.

The fact is, the men that have turned this franchise around, for whatever reason, liked the idea of giving up two first round picks for AS, over the idea of drafting a QB. Again, we will never know why. We will just know that they did. I trust them, and with the team at 9-0 after just 9 months "in office", I don't know how you can't.

One of three things will need to happen between now and the start of next season:

1. The current offensive line improves drastically
2. Stephenson, Watkins, Schwartz, Kush or Johnson will supplant a starter and play better than the starters.
3. The Chiefs are right back to square one regarding the offensive line and will need to draft and sign average players.

There isn't a single person watching Chiefs games that doesn't believe that the WR and TE position needs an upgrade, regardless of Alex Smith. The WR's and TE's have all been below average this season, and that's not even debatable.

If Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were available in free agency and the draft each year, that wouldn't be an issue. FINDING a future Hall of Fame QB is extremely difficult.

Your supposition is hilarious at best and stupid at worst.

I hope you're right. I guess the scary thing is that they seemed to not bring in any threats to Alex this year. Daniel is a career backup at best and Bray is an UDFA. That leads me to believe they want him to be the guy, espcially after giving up 2 2nds. They may change course, I don't know. I think maybe there is also still some Pioli man love for Cassell hangover doubt for the front office lingering. I just have nightmares of a 13-3 season, first round playoff loss and Alice extension in the off season.

I highly doubt #1 happens. Those guys shouldn't be THAT bad at this point. They are going to have to bring in vets IMO and maybe get lucky in the draft. I wonder how much different the line would look had we brought Lilja back. They seemed to play well last year with him at C.

No, those guys don't grow on trees. However, if you aren't looking at drafting because you are locked into a contract with you're "guy" or don't want to bring in someone that might threaten him then it doesn't really matter. Obviously we'll have a better direction after the season since I doubt they let Alex go into his last year without a contract if they are going to make him the guy.

How are you related to Alice?
