Sure there's always exceptions to the rule but lets be honest, there's only 1 Patrick Willis.

ILB just isn't enough of a big impact position to warrant that type of draft spot.

Trade down? Maybe (and that's assuming we still get that 1st round QB). But can't sit there and do it.

3 years after the draft nobody cares about the position, just whether or not they are good players. If you've got a perennial pro bowler, you did well.

Eh I disagree. If there was a perennial pro bowl Guard out there and the Chiefs used that 1 or 2 pick on him, I'd still be upset. Why? Because we still wouldn't be winning SBs.

No we'd be better off just taking the best available QB. You'd either hit and be eligible for a SB down the road, or you'd whiff and come back in 3-4 years and take another QB.

My original post said "if you have the QB" then the position doesn't matter, take the highest graded player.

It's not that simple. You have to look at "bang for your buck" in the draft. The #1 guy in a position of lesser impact isn't going to help you as much as the #2 or even #3 guy in a position of greater impact.

If Tyson Jackson played like Richard Seymour, I'd still be ****ing pissed that we took him at ****ing 3.

Eh, if that were the case, most of us would be over it by now.

Why in the **** is this class being called shitty? It looks much better than the 2008 class for crying out loud.

Seriously. Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco weren't exactly lighting it up in college and look at them now.

God I hate Kiper.

Yep. It's a crapshoot. Might as well take a position that matters.

Ben Roethlisberger went 11th overall in 04. Just because some scouts believe Matt Barkley to be around the #10-15th best player in this league doesn't me that's where we'll stay.
