Vegas looks at all sorts of stuff like how does a team do on the road compared to home. I showed the numbers in another thread, but just look at the results for yourself. Sure, KC is 9-0 and traveling to 8-1... but, that doesn't automatically mean the PS is going to be 3.

Hell, they could have started with 5.5 and many would complain.

Again, I think few doubt the awesomeness of KC's defense... it's the offense that few believe in at this point and recent road games give validity to the concerns.

I'm merely suggesting that while they won those games by more than 2 scores, none of those teams were comparable to what Denver's offense can do. So, in those 4 road games ... the Chiefs scored 5 offensive TDs, 11 FGs and 5 D/ST TDs.

So, yeah if the D/ST scores a few times, it's a whole new outlook... KC's offense has been rather bland on the road. Alex Smith last threw a TD in a road game at Jacksonville, week 1.

BUF really screwed the pooch when they threw that INT near the endzone that was run back, that could have been a huge game changer at that point with a nice double digit lead.

Plus people love offense over defense. That's how it always is. The Chiefs are considered a defensively oriented team... so people assume if they even have a chance it'll be a close, hard fought game... if not things will get away from them. I think generally speaking people will always pick the offensive team over the defensive one. Even though history says that's not true.

Funny thing about that is the Chiefs and Broncos are still far and away 1/2 in the AFC in point differential. The Chiefs are +104... there is nothing flukey about that.

The only thing flukey is the D/ST scoring - yes, all production counts, but you can't always rely on D/ST to bail you out. I believe that is the perception with KC right now.

D/ST has 7 TDs through 9 games... compared to 9 passing and 7 rushing.

When you win half your games that way, it's a fluke.

When you win ALL of your games that way, it's a hallmark.
