Carson Palmer is amusing...

Bengals quarterback was recently interviewed on LA-based sports radio station (KLAC) and talked about living in Ohio and the upcoming USC-Ohio State college football matchup. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Just being in Ohio you gotta watch what you say with the old Ohio State-USC battle coming up, or do you just not give a (darn) and your going to say what you feel like saying?

Palmer: I don’t watch what I say. I cannot stand the Buckeyes and having to live in Ohio and hear those people talk about their team, it drives me absolutely nuts. We got Keith Rivers out there and we got Frostee Rucker, we finally got a couple other ‘SC guys. It’s amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I got to put up with being back there. I just can’t wait for two years from now when ‘SC comes to the ‘Shoe and I get to, hopefully have a home game that weekend and I can go out there and watch us pound on them on their own turf and kind of put all the talk to rest, because I’m really getting sick of it. I just can’t wait for this game to get here so they can come to the Coliseum and experience L.A. and get an old fashioned, Pac 10 butt-whooping and go back to the Big Ten.

So you’re a little excited about it?

Palmer: I can’t wait.

The PAC-10 does have a pretty good system going, I'll give them that. I wish another team would join the Big Ten and they would not only play everyone in their conference, but also have a conference championship like other conferences. What makes me laugh is when people state that OSU never schedules tough competition. I mean, sure they got their asses handed to them in the national championship game two years ago, but I don't remember anybody stating before hand how unfair it was for OSU to have to beat two #2 ranked teams that season. I know that we have our fair share of cupcake games like Youngstown St., but everybody does and I can't fault Jim for trying to keep the money in state. BTW, I wouldn't consider ND as a good non conference opponent.

They're a rival we play them every year, it's not our fault they don't know what they're doing, same as UCLA.

I'd be willing to bet over the course of the last 5 years we've played better teams than nearly anyone has.

High Praise for USC from Virginia

Virginia head coach Al Groh, a former NFL assistant, on USC:

"This is the most talented college football team I've seen since I had to do pre-draft work on the Florida State teams of the mid- to late-1990s."

"They had the most guys in the country drafted last year and a couple of NFL general managers have told me: 'They might have more drafted next year.' They definitely have been in a league of their own in the decade from 2000 on."

There is no argument...

USC's backups could beat OSU's starters.

Coliseum, Horseshoe, neutral field, cow pasture, you name it.

You're really ****ing cool.

And FTR, I could care fucking less if some 21 year-old jackass with bad grammar "likes" me or not.

So with that in mind, GFY.

Did anyone ever hear what Carson's comments were after the USC vs OSU game on Saturday?

I know the sports casters in the Columbus area sure didn't bring up his previous comments.

I'm more interested in learning the backstory regarding "Mecca ruining people's lives."

I missed that somehow...
