Come on, Andy Reid flipped him for picks. He's a QB genius.

Not a knock on Reid, more an indictment of how stupid the Cardinals were. If his rep as a QB guy gets teams to do similar stupid shit for us, it will be awesome.

All of this trade back talk is ridiculous.

NOBODY is going to trade up to #1 for a Tackle. Or a Guard. Or a corner. NOBODY. None of those players is a game changer, and you don't trade up to the #1 spot for anything less.

A QB is a game changer. If you don't have one, you're screwed. We don't. If Dorsey and Reid like Geno, they'll take him at #1. I hope they do, I hope we can go forward with our very own #1 guy and I hope he becomes the franchise QB we've always wanted.

But I don't know. It may be a 2nd rounder.

FYI, the excuse given for why Kolb couldn't secure the starting spot in Philly was that he got injured. TWICE.

Well guess what? He has the SAME PROBLEM in Arizona.

A QB that can't stay healthy cannot be, BY DEFINITION, a franchise QB.

So let's throw out Kolb.

Yep.

Combined numbers for QB starts under Andy Reid NOT named Donovan McNabb:

38-44 record (.463)
55% completion percentage
112 TD's
94 INT's
70 QBR.

And those numbers are inflated due to Vick, who was a #1 overall pick.

I stand corrected then.

Take Vick out of the equation, and you're looking at a 20-28 record (.416) and a 61:64 TD:INT ratio.

Played well in Reid's system, alright.

So we can't find a QB to do the job in the 1st round...

but we can find one who will be able to later in the draft?

To say Reid found 2 starting QBs after the 1st round is pretty ignorant, IMO.

Kolb has been a massive flameout as a starter, and Foles has not at all proven to be an NFL starter, despite that he started in place of a flailing Mike Vick.

Certainly quality starting QBs can be found outside the 1st, but their example is a poor one (or two).

If we don't take QB #1, I do believe we are gonna have to trade back into the low 20s to get Wilson, Barkley, or whomever they do like. Best I see falling to #34 is Nassib, and I'm not real impressed.

Here's the rub: While there may not be a QB that is head and shoulders above the other QBs in this draft class, there really isn't a player at any position that is head and shoulders the other players. If they are all the same, then pick your damn QB with the #1 pick. The only player that would make me change my mind about drafting a QB with the #1 pick isn't even eligible for the draft: Jadaveon Clowney.

If he somehow challenged the three year rule and won, then, and only then, would I say draft the best player who isn't a QB.
