Week 12 WR snap counts

Watson 64 snaps (84%) 2 targets 2 receptions 26 yards - Once again the he's the skill position player with the most snaps and once again he produced as if he played 20 snaps.)

MVS 44 snaps (58%) 5 targets 4 receptions 56 yards - I think this is about the perfect amount of playing time. He had a dropped pass that hit him right in the hands and even though it was a bullet he definitely should have caught it.

Skyy Moore 35 snaps (46%) 6 targets 5 receptions 36 yards - This dude shouldn't be anywhere near a punt return. I thought he should be getting more opportunities on offense than what he is getting. Had a big gain that turned into a 4 yard gain because of a pretty shitty holding call against Watson.

JJSS 29 snaps (38%) 3 targets 3 receptions 38 yards - Limited snaps because of prior concussion. Played as well as you'd expect and will probably be the lead WR again next week.

Powell 2 snaps (3%) Nothing

Another subpar performance from CP's favorite JAG Justin Watson. In the last 3 weeks Watson has played in 167 snaps out of a possible 204 snaps (82%). These are his stats from that time frame.

7 targets 6 receptions 107 yards and 0 TDs

If you take away the reception that took us to halftime against the Chargers then he looks even more like a JAG.

6 targets 5 receptions and 76 yards

Skyy Moore should be getting some of those snaps and in no way is Watson's production acceptable.

I'm ready for you all to tell me I'm an idiot and how I'm being a bitch after we just won. Eventually some of you will see the light.

We are #1 in the NFL in scoring. We are #1 in the NFL in Offense (ypg). We are the #1 passing offense in the NFL (again, ypg). Hell, we're even #19 in rushing offense despite our reluctance to run the ball. These are all good things. These rankings are all better than last year. In addition, they are the best in the NFL this year.

So with all that said, I'll defer to Andy and his coaches on the use of WR's in this new offense and the snap counts they are getting and assume they know what they are doing.

This.

It's not the number of snaps, it's the number of targets. Watson was held in chipping the pass rusher on several plays yesterday. Sure, let's let the revolving door known as Wylie protect our QB while we figure out how to cut Watson's snap count. Did we win? Yes. Did we cover the original 14.5 spread? Yes. Let's just about snap counts.

Watson is a good blocker and runs routes that help get others open. I'm not sure how anyone who watches NFL games can argue that Watson is taking snaps from Skyy Moore. The basically play different positions.

Didn't Mahomes say that Watson understands the offense so well, that he has actually directed other receivers on the field in what they are supposed to do or routes they are supposed to run?

And this is his first year in the offense, so maybe that is why he getting so many snaps.

That Ivy League brain is an asset.

I'm tired of MVS being MVS. I don't care if Watson, Skyy, or Toney get the snaps...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I feel like MVS should be spending an extra hour or two after practice with the Jugs machine.

Can we get Tony G to give MVS the practice routine he used between his rookie season and season number 2?

The lead is being buried. My take away from all this is that the people that said "Juju isn't getting activated if he's going to be on a pitch count this week" are stupid. He was always going to be on a pitch count...not because of the concussion, but because they didn't have to chance it since they were playing the Rams.

They're getting old and can't get it in their heads, Skyy is not Mecole. No matter how hard they want it to be so. Skyy has better hands to start with, roll with it

I think Watson gets more snaps simply because they are running more 13 personnel and he is a better blocker but can also run a good route if Mahomes audibles.

This was my thought. We ran a ton of 13 last night. Honestly, I thought it'd generate a lot more points in the RZ.

But anyway, Justin is a big body, so run-blocking is covered, and that same characteristic would be an asset in the RZ as a receiver.

Wait until next week when "Why is Justin Watson still getting so many snaps-3.0," hits the front page. That'll really be the cat's ass for must-read threads.

One more time. We ran (not counting those called back for penalties or ST plays) 72 plays Sunday. Of those, 42 were pass (58%) and 30 run (42%). Pure snap counts for skill players are BS.
