you'd like the Chiefs to sign. Are there any?

Nope, he's still out there. Can we spare a roster spot for a KO specialist(assuming Peterson keeps the K job)?

He might be worth the risk. If he can get any type of accuracy on field goals, he'd of been drafted for sure.
He has a boomer leg on kick-offs.

Omar Smith, OG from Kentucky.

We should sign him right now, IMO (I had him rated as a 3rd/4th rounder...)

23:36 ET: The Kansas City Star reports the Kansas City Chiefs have canceled their plans to interview XFL QB Tommy Maddox. They are also close to signing an undrafted free agent QB Ryan Helming of Northern Iowa. Da Wolf:

That's just too funny of their interest in this Northern Iowa QB.

Guess where Kurt Warner played his college ball?

I find this to be so bizarre...

Yeah, I remember hearing about that on a post on the other board. Someone was pimping up the guy, and saying he was better in college by far than Warner, in the same system.

We'll see how much the Arena League played into all of that...

Speaking of a kickoff specialist, if that is going to be the case I would sure like to replace Petersen with Carney who is available. He has lost the distance for kickoffs but man can he hit the field goals even though he is probably only good to 45 yards anymore that is way better than Petersen.

Jim, that doesn't sound at all like an upgrade from Peterson. Remember he started slow (injury rust, IMO) but finished strong and was accurate.

His kickoffs I worry about, but not his field goal kicking. If we're going to grab someone to replace him, it needs to be someone who can regularly drop kicks into the endzone and that's certainly not Carney.

He signed with the Rams right after the draft. I'm developing a sheer 49 type hate for Martz.

The Wisconsin kicker signed with Da Bears as did OT Kris Brown.

That's too bad, I really think we need some help at guard. I think Smith was better than anyone the Rams signed on Day two - wonder why he slipped...

I just read a note on KFFL that the Colts signed 28 rookie free agents.

Geez.
