Dessert Warfare: Round 5, Match 4

Just in case you were wondering where all of the apple and cherry options went, this set of matchups seemed to draw them like flies.

Oh, and this is the last matchups in Round 5.

Cherry Pie with Lattice Top Crust and Vanilla Ice Cream (1 Loss) vs. Apple Pie (0 Losses)

I'm not really into ice cream on my pie, so I'll go apple.

Cherry Pie (0.5 Losses) vs. Snickers Cupcakes: (Devil's food cake filled w/ Peanuts and Caramel, vanilla frosting, and peanuts and chocolate syrup) (1 Loss)

I'll go snickers, I think.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pie (0 Losses) vs. Apple Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream on Top (0 Losses)

Probably apple over the peanut butter cup. I'm having trouble envisioning the peanut butter cup.

Chocolate Cake (1 Loss) vs. Apple Pie with Lattice Top Crust and Vanilla Ice Cream (0 Losses)

Chocolate cake, definitely. A nice, moist chocolate cake is hard to beat.

With the fall of the cheesecakes this round and the continued domination of apple, you may be right. The smart money may be on that apple pie with lattice top crust and vanilla ice cream.

Before this round, my money was on strawberry cheesecake, but their loss to chocolate chip cookies was a shocker.

About time. What, do you think you have a life while the rest of us are sitting here waiting to settle the great dessert debate for mankind once and for all?

Yeah, apple is a juggernaut. I don't quite get that. In many cases, I would take cheese cake, cherry, or something really chocolaty over apple. Not to mention rhubarb.

Cherry Pie with Lattice Top Crust and Vanilla Ice Cream - Cherry pie alone is better than apple pie. The ice cream is just a deal sweetener.

Snickers Cupcakes: (Devil's food cake filled w/ Peanuts and Caramel, vanilla frosting, and peanuts and chocolate syrup) - I could have gone either way here but the waiter told me that management was thinking about removing Snickers Cupcakes from the menu if he didn't see a surge in sales so I ordered that.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pie - No contest

Chocolate Cake - Apple pie, I'm just not into you. You may not see another vote from me in this contest.

I'll eat dessert with you, but it has to be on separate plates, and separate forks. You sit on the opposite side of the table and if you look at me wrong my fork goes in your eyeball. And I'm not talking politics over dessert.

That reminds me of the 5 hard I did in the Huntsville Unit. It will be just like old times. Don't worry, I know where the lines are drawn.
