Chiefs Offseason Planet Evaluation: Ramik Wilson

Speak about Ramik. Don't be meek.

Poll coming faster than a checkdown pass on a blitz.

Ramik was active in 8 games and started 4.

He recorded 14 tackles with 1 assist, and recovered a fumble that he returned 11 yards for a touchdown. (Why don't I remember that?)

It seems the current regime doesn’t like him much but I thought he was pretty good.

He’s great depth if nothing else.

I say keep him.

He's one of 2017's biggest mysteries in my mind. Once Ragland was signed, it seemed like Ramik ended up exiled in Elba. While Ragland seems to be stronger in the position, I didn't think Ramik was doing a bad job.

A pox on you, sir. When did you ever see Wilson hit someone like DJ. Yeah, never. But back to topic. Backup, period.

I think his value comes in experienced depth that you don’t have to fear losing in FA. He can help on special teams too.

Sucks. Had to trade for Ragland *right before the season* because we were so desperate for an ILB who could tackle and cover gaps. He sucked last year too.

He can't tackle, misdiagnoses plays and doesn't excel against the run or the pass.

The Chiefs have been trying to replace him for two seasons, first with March-Lillard, then with KPL, Eligwe and Ragland.

I'll be surprised if he's on the 53 this season and if so, it's likely due to injury.
