The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher has been fined $100,000 by the NFL for wearing a hat promoting a sponsor not authorized by the league during media day at the Super Bowl.

The Nazi Football League strikes again.

I imagine that Urlacher received a lot more than that for wearing the hat, though.

Well....for comparison..Ray Lewis was fined 200g's for being involved in double murder....

So, Urlacher was fined as if he was involved in a single murder... for wearing a hat..

That seems reasonable

Note to NFL players: Charge unauthorized sponsors at least $200,000 to wear a hat with their logo.

I doubt Urlacher gives a shart, as long as vitamin water paid him double that to wear the hat.

I know a guy with severe cerebral palsy who should file a suit-fine ray Lewis for stealing his pregame entry to the field. Talk about a copyright infringement.

My god, thats alot of money for wearing a ****ing hat, Yet, guys that put illegal hits that can injury a guy for the rest of his career get fined 10,000 bucks?

I love the sport of football, but i am seriously starting to hate the NFL Front offices.

No Fun League is all it stands for now.

I wonder if fines are tax-deductible. If he's in the 36 percent tax bracket, and then has, say, another 5 percent state tax, then he's paying over $80,000 in taxes. If you fine him $100,000 on top of that, he's barely got enough left over from wearing the hat to buy a subcompact car.

Exactly what I was thinking. All the lowball fines for all the crap hits in the league these past 10 or 15 years. 100k for wearing damn hat? :shake:
