The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher has been fined $100,000 by the NFL for wearing a hat promoting a sponsor not authorized by the league during media day at the Super Bowl.

My god, thats alot of money for wearing a ****ing hat, Yet, guys that put illegal hits that can injury a guy for the rest of his career get fined 10,000 bucks?

I wonder if fines are tax-deductible. If he's in the 36 percent tax bracket, and then has, say, another 5 percent state tax, then he's paying over $80,000 in taxes. If you fine him $100,000 on top of that, he's barely got enough left over from wearing the hat to buy a subcompact car.
